Cloak of Night
From TribalWar
As the name suggest this map was in fact dark. Dominated by HO rushes and coordinated trains, CoN proved to be a team based map. Unlike most maps in Tribes 1, it was essential to keep the base up and have turrets/pulse sensors surronding the flag stand. Range of sight was restricted causing LD to be blind to assaults unless warned through their command screens.
Basic Strat
- 1 HoF
- 1 LD w/laser
- 1 LD w/rep pack on the RT (usually your LD with best chain due to no e-pack)
- 1 LD w/basic chase on the hill opp. the rt
- 1 TF (2nd HoF when D was running smoothly)
- 1 Capper
- 4 HO (1 of these players would sometimes swing into a Capper loadout if base rape was going well)
The beggining minute of this map was crucial. At the start all of your offense, and sometimes one of your LD, would suit up as HO to be sure to take their base down. While this is happening it was equally important for the two LD that did not rush to begin setting up a web of sensors to act as their eyes and ears throughout the course of the map. If a capper on the opposing team stumbled upon one of the sensors and destroyed it, the first priority was setting up a new one.
