Submitted by: Odio @ 04:29 PM | Friday, December 2, 2016 | (url: http://www.coming...)

First announced for the big screen in 2014, Sony Pictures Entertainment, Mattel and Parkes+MacDonald/Image Nations upcoming live-action Barbie movie has finally landed a leading lady in Amy Schumer (Trainwreck, Inside Amy Schumer).

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Schumer will play a misfit living in a land of perfect Barbies who comes to the real world where her being/looking different turns into an asset. The film is said by the trade to be, a contemporary spin on beauty, feminism and identity in the comedic-fantasy vein of Splash, Enchanted or Big.

Although Diablo Cody (Juno, Young Adult) was previously attached to write the film, the current screenplay comes from Hilary Winston (The LEGO Ninjago Movie, the Bad Teacher TV series). Schumer and her sister Kim Caramele are expected to rewrite the script, and a director is currently being sought.

From princess to president, mermaid to movie star, Barbie has done it all through her more than 150 careers, she has gained valuable experiences and shown her fans that anything is possible for a modern woman. The toy line launched in 1959, and brings in $2 billion dollars annually. The comedic and contemporary film marks the second collaboration between Sony Pictures and Mattel, which are currently developing a film adaptation of Masters of the Universe, based on Mattels popular action figures.

Barbie is being produced by Walter F. Parkes, Laurie MacDonald and Amy Pascal.

It probably was that they had trouble scheduling anyone else to co-star with a woman who's vagina smells by her own admission something like a beached fish on a river bank.

Doesn't matter. You don't understand how jewish control works. They put their politics above profit every time. They've been pushing various agendas in entertainment for decades and it isn't about to stop just because normal people are starting to get irritated at the level of ridiculousness. If you're tired of SJW garbage everywhere, you hate the jews. You just don't know it yet.

This. Especially if you cut the cord with Comcast, only watch the local Fox station, and don't miss anything on cable (sports, movies). When I had cable, I only watched the Science channel because there was no left wing agenda there (except for global warming). Now I surf the net, watch YouTube channels I've subscribed too (coasters, science, music), and watch the local Fox station.

A good choice. Remember, if you want to catch certain shows on cable (Tucker Carlson for example) you can find channels streamed live on youtube. Just search Fox News live

I forgot to say my bill went from $186 to $65. Unreal people pay to see left wing propaganda and commercials. Even OTA is practically un-watchable because all the commercials.

I remember when cable was starting, and one of the cool things was there were no commercials. Paying the subscription was supposed to do away with that. But then they added the sports channels with commercials and now all the channels have it. Pathetic. If you have cable, you're paying $7 a month that goes directly to ESPN (Disney).

Glad to see you made the change. It's an odd sense of freedom

That's not a joke. You almost literally cannot go one minute through the special before she makes a vagina or just a really disgusting joke. And by disgusting joke, I mean like... "I'm a huge slut" joke, or a "my vagina smells like a barnyard" joke.

It gets visually uncomfortable for the people in the audience of her special, as about 50% of the way in, it's clear that the men, aren't laughing, period. And the women aren't even sure when to laugh, so they keep cutting to the same 3-4 women in the audience laughing hysterically so that they'd have a good reaction shot to the jokes.

The reason that women comedians don't do as well as their male counterparts, is because most women comedians (save for a few, Ellen comes to mind, there have been a few, I can't recall their names) frame their comedy around women's issues, whereas men frame their comedy around issues that anyone can get.

Amy just seems to bury the needle though from the word "go". She drinks during the special - which isn't helping her at all, and all of her jokes about her vagina, getting black out drunk and guys eating her out while she's sleeping, and how gross her vagina is.

There's a fine art to being gross in comedy, I think Doug Stanhope does a bit called "60 inches of AIDS on any given Sunday" that's fucking brilliant beyond words. Where he's talking about something that a majority of Americans love, and turns it into one of the most offensive sexual fantasies I've ever heard, and it's hilarious.

There's no setup to Amy's jokes, it's just... I'm a disgusting whore, and gross stuff happens to my vagina, for an hour. It's not fun, it's not engaging, you can you tell the audience that was present, didn't really dig this too much. Even the women in the crowd switched off before the halfway mark. Also she can't help but pitch her leftist ideals during the event, which draws a truly breathtaking awkward silence from the crowd when she randomly brings up gun control in her standup.
