I don't chime in often, but I kind of agree with both sides.

This movement is just costing everyone money. They are accomplishing very little and they are going about it the wrong way. I hate to see that my bankrupt ass state is even more bankrupt because the people milking the system are shitting on the sidewalks and causing more money to be spent cleaning it up.

I do strongly agree that corporations and politics, especially lobbyists, shouldn't be in bed together. I think that needs to be fixed as quickly as possible.

I do not care if the corporations cut jobs, benefits, pay, or how much CEOs are making. It's their company to manage and if they can earn 1 billion with 10 people instead of 100, then I say good job and keep up the good work.

I do care when the government bails out large corporations, they should let the companies fail if they do poorly. A new company will sprout up over time and hire people.

I'm pretty certain a lot of these protestors don't even know precisely what they are on the streets for. They all have different motivations which is why they won't go anywhere with this crap.

But radical people are mixed in with OWS and people anger at the system is what they are counting on.

The system crashes then what? I open to ideas. Let ne hear them.

I agree with the radical people in OWS, but with a protest this large radicals are going to get in. All in all though OWS has been doing a pretty good job policing itself from everything I have actually seen and watched.

As such, the protest is still just a bit older than 2 months, so give it some time to get some real leaders to drive the movement forward.

As far as anger at the system, they want to reform it, not destroy it (the non radicals at least.) Election season is two years away, so give it time. I know waiting sucks, but garnering attention is the first step in any change.

I don't support OWS in the least but surely people aren't that shortsighted.

The fact that we had to bail out all the huge banks/corporations back then sucked, but it had to be done. However they were failing because of their own greed and, after receiving the bail out money, were supposed to correct their ways (the government was supposed to step in and say "Hey, don't be stupid, you're going to drag us all down with you" through regulations and whatever).

Years later and things aren't any better (as they were promised to be). People have a right to be pissed off, and things DO need to change. The problem is, what can you do about it?

If you want to deal with a problem you go to the source, not the resulting fallout. Wall street is everyone. Not a select few. That is unless you are dumb enough not to invest in some form or fashion.

Protesting is a good start, so long as it stays non-violent.

seriously ratbert advocating this shit makes me pray for a police state to quell all the bullshit with violence

I'm hoping a few of the protesters set themselves on fire, that's what happened in Egypt wasn't it?

Self Immolation is actually incredibly effective. I'm not for it, but yes, that is what happened in Egypt, and several other places in history.
