WASHINGTON €” The Federal Trade Commission has opened a formal antitrust investigation of Intel, the world€™s largest maker of computer microprocessors, for anticompetitive conduct, government officials and lawyers involved in the proceeding said Friday.

The officials and lawyers said that in recent days Intel, its smaller rival Advanced Micro Devices, and several of the world€™s largest personal computer makers that buy semiconductors from the two companies have begun to receive subpoenas from the commission.

They aren't just building a better product. They were using their market position to threaten large computer builders so they wouldn't use their competitors product in any systems. Thats fucked up and destroys the free market systems that have forced Intel to be the better product designer recently. Fucking clowns.

Never saw this coming

This happens every time Intel begins to thoroughly whip AMD's ass.

If AMD wasn't building such a shitty product then large manufacturers wouldn't feel the pressure to agree to Intel's terms.

If there was a fucking alternative right now they could tell Intel to fuck off, but since there isn't they have to bow. Not saying it is right, but AMD needs to get its act together and quick.
