More than anything else, the new NVIDIA nForce 790i Ultra SLI chipset is designed for next‐generation processor technologies, and supports 3‐way SLI, Quad SLI, DDR3 with EPP 2, PCI Express 2.0, 1600 FSB CPUs, and the meticulous hardware control via the Enthusiast System Architecture (ESA).

The ASUS Striker II NSE nForce 790i SLI motherboard provides true triple PCIe 2.0/16x lanes with support for 3‐Way SLI and Quad SLI. It includes 60 PCI Express lanes and 10 links, six SATA ports, one eSATA port, 10 USB, and two Gigabit Ethernet NVIDIA MAC, ATA‐133 interface, two PCI slots, and HD audio. Impressive right?

Seriously.

4-way SLI?
No games support it and the performance benefits of a dual array SLI are lacking, still. What fucking benefit does sticking two more $300 money holes into your PC have? Another 20%-35% per card? Oh great. For an additional three times the original cost, I can have just over double the performance.

Yeah, well when everyone is rocking out on Rise playing with four 9600's and getting a million FPS and you're sitting back crying with your shitty 200 FPS you'll look back and agree that 4 is better than 2

i doubt someone who drops 400+ on a mobo cares about money.

2 cards is enough, 4 cards is overkill and not that much of a fps boost to boot. go to Hard[O]cp and they already did a test on it.

Settle down DV, it's only a review. Nobody is forcing you to go buy this motherboard, or use SLI for that matter - the same way nobody forces you to buy a Porche or get a masters degree.

Hey .... dual SLi is awesome. I gain a good 30-35% on MOST games. That really helps when you're on higher resolutions and want high graphics.

Having the ability for SLi is not so bad. You can always use those slots to convert your old graphics cards into PhysX hardware shit.
