NY TImes: EVE Online Still Expanding

Submitted by: NAT Mav @ 08:17 AM | Wednesday, November 28, 2007 | (url: http://www.nytime...)

With its formidable depth, complexity and Kilimanjaro-like learning curve, Eve will never rival World of Warcraft and its nine million customers for mass-market appeal. But at a stage when most games have long since stagnated, Eve continues to grow, recently passing 200,000 subscribers. Today, CCP plans to announce a major graphics overhaul scheduled for Dec. 5. Just this past Sunday, Eve set a record for any game when it recorded 37,729 simultaneous players in its common virtual universe.

I have 128 days of skills in my queue. *sigh* I think I'll just stay registered for the next year, even if I decide to stop playing. Gotta watch those numbers go up.

Looking forward to Trinity.

If I didn't have to waste so much time tracking down parts and materials after lossing a ship I'd probably still be playing. That is what killed it for me. Lose ship, spend next day or two tracking down all the needed parts to properly setup a ship. :(

I would still be playing if it wasn't for Curroption and bullshit GM's.

I had sold some timecards I got from a friend to a guy using a supported method, and he turned out to be a Credit Card scammer who was selling ISK also (According to their first response to my Petition) and they took away my credits, because as they said "Anyone who got ISK from Crazy Yumen, HAD to be buying it there is no other way to get isk from him"

Then when I asked for a Senior GM she said (Bobit btw) "Sorry but Crazy Yumen was buying ISK w/ Stolen Credit Cards and since you had ISK transactions with him we took your isk out of your wallet" Only problem was I didn't give him isk, I received isk and furnished evemails proving that I sold him timecards for it.

Unfortunatly because I am in Snigg, and not BoB I was not refunded... they basically did not give me back timecodes, nor did they give me back my ISK. The other night in yz- we had a pretty big fight with BoB and they fighter blobbed us to lag out the grid (I have a friend in a bob corp) and I lost a shit ton of stuff. Some bobbits died and petitioned and got ships back (My buddy was one of them) and when I petitioned I was told it was against Policy for them to refund ships due to lag now, when I gave them a list of names that got ships back they said "Sorry, but we have no way to prove they got those ships back so we can't help you"

/shrug I would rather not give money to a company who is curropt anymore, I was having a great time killing bobbits but in the end my 15 dollars isn't worth it knowing that at anytime with out any warning the GM's in this game will steal your ISK just because of what corp you belong to. Oh well 2 30m sp characters can rot now. Just gave them to my corp hopefully they will be put to good use cause im done with the iceland fucks.

Fuckin bitch then. Thread post in GD with the GM's name and those that got refunds would be a good way to get shit back. Same thing with the CC scammer.

Take things laying down or standing up.

Hey Hani,

I did, and got banned from Eve-o. Trust me, after all the time I spent in eve I didn't just go laying down =) I even called corporate office and basically was told the Senior GM's final say is final and they won't overturn it.

I was referring more to the timecodes. Reimbursment is always something of a crapshoot.

Honestly though, *shrug*, I enjoy the game and avoid timecode sales, for purely gaming belief reasons.

Corrupt though?

Thats what happens, and why this whole war was started. My corp mate Kutsuumen uncovered a ton of curroption from the GM staff, when they were found out they banned him "Account sharing was the official reason".

We all know the basic concept/story so I don't need to rehash it, and honestly new players have less to worry about then someone like myself. I just happened to be in the wrong corp/alliance for getting a fair shake.

So if you play eve just don't ever join Snigg and you should get a fair petition response.. well maybe =P
