Google's Browser, "Chrome"

Google Chrome is Googles open source browser project. As rumored before under the name of Google Browser, this will be based on the existing rendering engine Webkit. Furthermore, it will include Googles Gears project.
The browser will include a JavaScript Virtual Machine called V8, built from scratch by a team in Denmark, and open-sourced as well so other browsers could include it. One aim of V8 was to speed up JavaScript performance in the browser, as its such an important component on the web today. Google also say theyre using a multi-process design which they say means a bit more memory up front but over time also less memory bloat. When web pages or plug-ins do use a lot of memory, you can spot them in Chromes task manager, placing blame where blame belongs.

You'd think they could have come up with a better name. "Google Web Browser" is better than "Chrome."
Based on the screenshots I actually really like the look. Super simple. I'm digging it and can't wait to use it.
Not leaving Firefox without a very very very good reason.
I am impressed with google though, I love Picasa, but it is missing a resize function, which is pretty basic to any photo software.

Just tried it and I can't even open a single web page. Crashes ever time when I open it.
they must be getting slammed with hits, cause my "accept and install" button has been clicked for about 5 minutes now...

This is quick, wow. I mean really fucking quick. The GUI is nice and minimalist. Really, it's just missing a fullscreen mode (does it really need it?) and extensions.
very fast browser, and has become my new browser until I find a reason not to use it. small footprint, good options for what it is and did I mention faaaaast?
