Nintendo Loses Controller Lawsuit

The lawsuit concerns the analog sticks in the Classic Controller and GameCube controllers, which Texas-based Anascape Ltd. claims to hold a patent on that Nintendo violated. The court has ruled in favor of Anascape, and U.S. District Judge Ron Clark has rejected Nintendo's request for a new trial. As a result, Clark said he will put a ban on the sale of the controllers (which includes sales of GameCube systems) starting tomorrow, July 23, unless Nintendo posts a bond or puts royalties into an escrow account.
While the ruling concerns the analog sticks on the controllers, it doesn't include sales of the Nunchuck attachment for the Wii remote, which was deemed not to violate Anascape's patent.

maybe you missed the part that said "which includes sales of GC systems" or just misinterpreted that as meaning only GC and not including Wii
Man do I hate our current copyright system.
What exactly are they talking about though? Not the joystick on the nunchuck but the joypad on the remote? Shitty newreport.

Whoopsy, classic controler and gamecube, my bad. Already own 3 GC controlers and they mash melee a breeze.
I don't understand how they won this lawsuit. Did Nintendo not implement analogue sticks that're almost identical to those on the GameCube and Wii way back with the Nintendo 64? When exactly did these leech Anascape fucks register their patent?
Man do I hate our current copyright system. This is about patent law, not copyright.
christ this took forever to rap up. i remember several years ago when my step dad was working as a consultant on this case for nintendo, i had to get out my old N64 for him (which i had not used in 2 years) so he could get his work done . im surprised it didnt get wrapped up back then.
That must have been another lawsuit:
"In August of last year a company called Anascape brought suit against Nintendo and Microsoft"

I'm writing one for the first time. I've got the press release bit done and formatted correctly, but I'm unsure what to do with the photos. I read that the caption needs to be in the IPTC field - what is this and how do I do it?!
The photos were done by a professional photographer, and are higher resolution than usual as they also need printing in large size. The largest is 3732 x 2672 pixels, 8.63 MB. All are jpeg images. I'll struggle to get them all on one email (there are three in total). Should i just send two? Or should I resize them / compress them?
I'd really appreciate advice from someone who deals with this type of thing regularly. Thanks!

What we need to do, guys, is patent the process of clandestinely patenting something designed outside of US jurisdiction.
That way any time some shady ass company makes money by suing Nintendo, we can sue them, and be FUCKING RICH.
(ban everyone)
