Spore Creature Creator June 17

The Spore Creature Creator gives anxious life-builders the chance to prematurely access the game's robust creature creation element; players will be able to build any creature they can imagine with the full lot of options. Created creatures can then be imported into the full game when it is released later this year.
If you're megalomaniacal but also too cheap to spring the $9.99 for the game, you'll be happy to hear that a free demo will also arrive that day on the Spore site.

no, the creature creator demo will be 9.99.
that's the only way that sentence makes sense.
because you know damn well that the only thing most players really want is the creature creator.

Wait what.. $9.99 for just the demo of the creature creator? Do you get a $9.99 off card or anything when you go to buy the game?
I'm impressed. They managed to find a way to directly profit off the game before it's even released.
I will be PAYING for this game when it is released. But I'll probably snatch the Demo.

The point is - you buy the creator now and get to make a ton of cool creatures. When the game comes out you now have all your creatures and can spend all of your time developing and playing them.
You are paying $10 (Less than a DVD) for a headstart and a sneak preview to the game. It's a great idea.
Yes, what a great precedent!
Next up, $9.99 per game demo... $29.99 per beta.
You can demo the creator for free. It is no different than the people buying CE's for the extra in-game goodies and headstarts.
yea its a really cool idea IMO, if it were a limited content creator (like most of the options for heads/arms etc disabled) that you could NOT later transfer into the game, then id say it should be free like a "demo" but this is quite cool for a measly 10 bucks.
wont you be able to warez it anyway for you people complaining about buying it
You will have to input the CDkey from the creator into the real game to transfer your creatures, without a doubt.
creating creatures is basicly half of the actual game. I'm not going to pay for it but I will surely download the demo
They did the same thing with The Sims 2, from what I recall.. they had a character creator out before the game released so people could play Barbie Dress-Ups...
