MARK MILLAR RELAUNCHES KICK-ASS WITH BLACK FEMALE HERO

Submitted by: Odio @ 03:49 PM | Wednesday, June 22, 2016 | (url: http://nerdist.co...)

Kick-Ass is coming back to comic book store shelves soon but not the way you remember it. Writer and co-creator Mark Millar has announced that a new Kick-Ass book is coming early next year, and this time, its not teenager Dave Lizewski who becomes the real-world superhero. Instead, the new Kick-Ass is a new, black female character. Kick-Ass: The New Girl will also be based out of a different city than the original series, with an all-new supporting cast as well.

Kick-Ass: The New Girl will be drawn by series co-creator John Romita Jr. who has committed to work on the book for three years, according to Millar. Also re-launching at the same time will be a new Hit-Girl series, which will be drawn by Rafael Albuquerque. Millar will script the first story arc, and then former Deadpool and Wolverine writer Daniel Way will take over as the regular author. It is unknown if the Hit-Girl of this new series is someone new under the mask as well. Both books are expected to launch in January, and both will be the first monthly, ongoing series from the Millarworld imprint.

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Millar has this to say about the change in the character: Comics is not short of white males aged around 30; that demographic seems pretty well catered for in popular culture. I dont think many blonde white guys around 30 feel under-represented when they pick up comic or watch a movie. Being older or younger or female or African-American just seems more interesting to me as a writer because this character is quite unique and opens up story possibilities that havent been tried in almost eighty years of superhero fiction. This woman has a completely different take on Kick-Ass.

Tesla has coast to coast coverage with super charge stations now

Submitted by: Goshin @ 09:22 AM | Wednesday, January 29, 2014 | (url: http://watchplayr...)

You can drive from west to east for free if you own a Tesla S
takes 30 minutes to charge 170 miles, so stopping every 3 hours. I guess it'll keep you regular for bathrooms and food.
They plan on having EVEN MORE stations by 2015.

[qoute]The Model S is known to have an operating range of 265 EPA certified miles, 170 of which can be recharged (for free mind you) within 30 minutes of being plugged in. This means that essentially every pit stop that you take on your road trip allows time to recharge and stretch your legs while not costing you anything in gas. Right now, there are 71 stations active and is now possible for you to travel from one coast to the other via the network of charging stations.

By 2015, Tesla plans on having 98% of the United States covered with access to the power stations[/quote]

Sounds interesting

- Spring 2014 Release Date

"Deadliest Catch Alaskan Storm" lets gamers captain their own boat in the frenzied search for an undersea jackpot. Gamers then recruit and lead their own crew from a roster of twenty real crab fishermen.

The game's realism is enhanced with four real Bering Sea harbors and 34,000 miles of real Bering Sea coastline created from the United States Geological Survey. In addition, "Deadliest Catch Alaskan Storm" is the first video game to feature United States Coast Guard vessels and helicopters.

Orange Box PC Outsells Consoles

Submitted by: Evil Light Bulb @ 11:14 AM | Friday, February 22, 2008 | (url: http://www.tomsga...)

In regards to PC sales being stronger than consoles...

"Rob Wright: How much stronger, exactly?

Doug Lombari: I'd say significantly stronger, at least a two-digit percentage increase over the console sales. And that includes Steam sales, retail sales, and now individual sales of Portal, Team Fortress 2, and Half-Life 2: Episode 2. So when you take the PC numbers for The Orange Box a la carte, they're significantly higher."

In the same vein Company of Heroes developer, Josh Mosqueira, noted that total Steam sales of CoH were roughly equivalent to the number of copies sold at Best Buy. Unfortunately, he also went on to state that the number of people downloading patches is 'substantially' greater than the number of people that have purchased the game.

With its formidable depth, complexity and Kilimanjaro-like learning curve, Eve will never rival World of Warcraft and its nine million customers for mass-market appeal. But at a stage when most games have long since stagnated, Eve continues to grow, recently passing 200,000 subscribers. Today, CCP plans to announce a major graphics overhaul scheduled for Dec. 5. Just this past Sunday, Eve set a record for any game when it recorded 37,729 simultaneous players in its common virtual universe.
