Can you imagine playing Tribes with more than 10 people in a comp setting? Do you want an intense CTF Tribes match with medium and heavy armors present? Do you long for the days when you do not have to sit in observer for multiple maps just to get a chance to play?

(All of this won't happen if you T1, LOL!)

The T2 Classic Draft Tourney is about to enter its 8th Season, and signups close the night of draft (April 7th). This one is gonna be good. So come on T1 llamas, show us what you're made of in this slightly less dead game, T2.

The double XP event will apply to servers worldwide. Those playing Tribes: Ascend on any existing public or custom server between Friday, May 25th at 10:00am EST through Tuesday, May 29th at 10am EST will receive twice the base experience per match.

Details:

All players are eligible for the Double XP event whether or not they are fans of the Tribes: Ascend Facebook page.

The promotion applies only to base XP. It does not apply to other XP sources such as Accolades or First Win of The Day.

The promotion applies to public servers and custom servers that exist as of Friday, May 25th at 10:00am EST. The promotion does not apply to any Custom Server created or made active after the start of the event..

Players with VIP status and/or an active XP boosts will receive those bonuses in addition to the double XP.

The North American Star League (NASL) has been focused on Starcraft 2, but has added Heros of Newerth (HoN) and now Tribes: Ascend for their third season.

The developers of Global Agenda have been taking a long look at player feedback over the past months, particularly that regarding Warzones in the game, and they've come to a decision. It's certainly not one that players were expecting, though.

Hi-Rez Studios CEO Erez Goren announced today that the company is the "proud new owner of the Tribes franchise." The company now has two teams in the studio, one devoted to Tribes Universe, which is expected to enter alpha testing at the beginning of 2011.

Not too long ago Sierra shocked fans of the futuristic shooter when they turned the master server off, for good. Die hard fans have made it possible to still play Tribes and Tribes 2 online. Now the time has come for the ps2 port of T2, Aerial Assault. TAA was ran off of the T2 master server, so they were terminated at the same time. But thanks to OnlineConsoles, the game has a new master server in which they created and host on their own. If you were ever affiliated with TAA communities, you may have received a mass email which was sent to a couple hundred register users. The email contained the date and time of a Tribes Aerial Assault reunion game. This match will be held on Tuesday July 13th at 8pm EST. If you need more information regarding the match, head on over to www.TribesAA.net and if you're having trouble connecting to the new master server you can try www.OnlineConsoles.com

Here is a news article about Tribes (shock). It goes over some of the history of the game and then rounds up touching on GG buying the rights and some mention of it at PAX this year and a hopeful release towards the end of this year.

For those who don't check tribes talk, Arcanox recently released two new videos.

Ok, sorry for the delay. There was a bit of back and forth getting these video files captured. Unfortunately the fellow who did these for me forgot to max the quality settings for the game, and there's some differences when some of the visual elements are scaled back.

Nothing very fancy, but at least I have an encoding format worked out that'll deliver better quality videos in the future:

Houston Vehicles elite Where Machines Of War Blaze Paths Of Bloody Fury The epicenter for team based combat, on an epic scale, returns to the Tribes 2 universe. Houston Vehicles elite would like to invite all |HV| members, friends and cannon fodder to stop by and say Hi! (vgh). Mark your calendars for Friday February 13, 2009. Fly a shrike or drop some bombs, attack those generators, it's up to you. We're in full production and open for business, thanks to our hard working admins. The Houston Vehicles elite server you knew and loved is back. All previous maps and scripts have been re-installed by our scripting guru, Wembly. He even has some ideas for new features. Training Site

There are people on the internet who wish to keep the Shifter Tribes alive. They are providing a training site for the noobs, returning players, and players from other mods who wish to play Tribes. The perspective trainee should be instructed to read through the site, or at the very least watch all the video's 1st.
Then they can request Tribes, Ventrilo, and personal Training, etc..... at the web site providing the training.

The project's working title is Tribal Wars, and it is a total conversion mod for Enemy Territory Quake Wars. The fundamental game play aspects are built around Starsiege: Tribes, but this project intends to develop additional elements that would spill over from the project's parent title Enemy Territory - Quake Wars.

We're working towards Milestone 1 in the project which will consist very much of a Tribes LT like experience, and simplified inventory stations. Subsequent milestones may include a larger selection of weapons, armor and tactical elements, many of which may be borrowed from Quake Wars.

I hope you guys like what you see, there will be more posted on the blog in the future.
