Sony's 2.41 firmware update for the PS3 is apparently out and riding the network updates. This according to our readers and those of the official PlayStation Blog. Now deep breath, install, and hope your system doesn't hang like it did for the few 2.40 unfortunates.

Harmonix announced their plans for Downloadable Content for Rock Band!
Cost will average 1.99 per song, 5.49 if you buy a bundle (you can buy bundles as individual songs, unlike Guitar Hero 2 or 3.)
Here's a selection of the stuff available the first week. Total of 15 songs will be available the first week and 27 within a month of launch:

Metallica Pack
"Ride the Lightning"
"Blackened"
"And Justice for All"

The Police Pack
"Can't Stand Losing You"
"Synchronicity II"
"Roxanne"

Queens of the Stone Age Pack
"3's and 7's"
"Little Sister"

Some songs will be cheaper, some more expensive. ($0.99-2.99)

Sony, Immersion settle PlayStation flap

Sony Corp. and Immersion Corp. said Thursday they have settled their long-simmering patent dispute over the vibration technology that shakes video game controllers, and will work together to bring the so-called "rumble" function back to PlayStation products.
