Yes, You Can Run Windows 95 on an Xbox One

What better use for brand new technology than to use it to boot up some old software? Duke Nukem 3D is always a solid choice. But what about when the ability to play Duke Nukem 3D isn't enough? Well then, you need to install Windows 95, and then play Duke through that. Luckily, thanks to the Windows 10 Anniversary Update, your dream can come true on the Xbox One.

The Anniversary Update is geared towards making the Xbox One more friendly to legacy apps. In fact, it makes it so friendly that this YouTuber was able to port the Dosbox emulator into the system through it, and then use Dosbox to run Windows 95, and then use Windows 95 to play Duke Nukem 3D.

While it's unlikely that this port will make it into the Xbox Marketplace, seeing that old startup bar, and then Duke's face, shows that the Anniversary Update could allow for things Microsoft never really intended. And things there is maybe not a very good reason to ever actually do, besides for laughs.

Tesla has coast to coast coverage with super charge stations now

Submitted by: Goshin @ 09:22 AM | Wednesday, January 29, 2014 | (url: http://watchplayr...)

You can drive from west to east for free if you own a Tesla S
takes 30 minutes to charge 170 miles, so stopping every 3 hours. I guess it'll keep you regular for bathrooms and food.
They plan on having EVEN MORE stations by 2015.

[qoute]The Model S is known to have an operating range of 265 EPA certified miles, 170 of which can be recharged (for free mind you) within 30 minutes of being plugged in. This means that essentially every pit stop that you take on your road trip allows time to recharge and stretch your legs while not costing you anything in gas. Right now, there are 71 stations active and is now possible for you to travel from one coast to the other via the network of charging stations.

By 2015, Tesla plans on having 98% of the United States covered with access to the power stations[/quote]

TitanFall is the new game from Respawn Entertaiment, which is made up of ex Infinity Ward develoeprs (CoD) - this was the studio that was created by just about all of IW leaving Activision (and then Activision sueing them and EA)

It is developed in the Source Engine and is coming out for Xbox One, Xbox 360, and PC only. Outsourcing Xbox 360 development.

Sounds interesting

- Spring 2014 Release Date
- There are a good amount of screens. In my opinion it visually looks pretty nice.
- First person shooter
- "Mech" and ground combat
- "Mech's" are called Titans.
- They want these Titans to feel fast. They can dodge etc.
- If you don't want to pilot the Titan you can have it follow you, killing people as it goes along.
- Player characters are called Pilots
- They are extremely agile. Can run on walls, multiple jumps.
- They can take down Titans. Jumping on them and shooting the "brain".

Special effects artist Pete Mander has put his talent to good use in devising this life-sized, scarily realistic costume modeled after the Sangheili, a.k.a. Elite, that you know and love so well from the Halo series. Cosplay seems like rather a cheap word to describe what Mander hath wrought; youll see what we mean when you check out the pictures and making-of video below.

More than a year after Sony declared victory in the format war, it appears that Microsoft is officially embracing Blu-ray, to an extent. In an interview with Gizmodo, Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer seemingly confirmed that the Xbox 360 will eventually be receiving an external Blu-ray drive.

The confirmation came when Ballmer was asked whether the Xbox 360 would be getting a Blu-ray drive anytime soon. He replied, "Well I don't know if we need to put Blu-ray in there - you'll be able to get Blu-ray drives as accessories."

For the three months ended March 31, 2009, the software giant announced that company-wide revenues dipped 6 percent year-over-year to $13.65 billion, while operating income was actually up 3 percent to $4.44 billion.

The news was similarly scattered for Microsoft's Entertainment and Devices division, which includes the Xbox 360 business. Sorry, Sony. The Xbox 360 is finally going to get a blockbuster RPG. Square has announced at the Microsoft press conference that Final Fantasy XIII is going to be released on Xbox 360 the same day as PS3 in North America and Europe. What a huge coup for Microsoft, and what a great piece of news for Xbox 360 owners who also happen to be great console RPG lovers.

Microsoft says No Blu-Ray for XBox 360

Submitted by: DudeofDeath @ 08:30 AM | Thursday, March 13, 2008 | (url: http://www.reuter...)

Reuters reports that Microsoft isn't in talks with Sony over Blu-Ray, and that Microsoft is investing more time on the digital aspects of distribution instead of the physical. This was indicated by statements from Aaron Greenburg. Greenburg went on to say that the 360 was still supply-constrained going into the month of February.

Looks like rival Sony asked for more money than Microsoft wanted to pay for the Blu-ray drive.

Working with a sufficient sample size of over 1,000 claims, SquareTrade, a warranty seller, has projected the Xbox 360 failure rate at 16.4% -- and likely climbing. Comparatively, the company reports failure rates hovering around 3% for PlayStation 3 and Wii, based on less accurate sample sizes numbering in the hundreds. SquareTrade found that the ghoulish "Red Ring of Death" accounted for 60% of hardware failures it's documented...

Lawsuit over Halo 3's incompatibility with the Xbox 360

Submitted by: Hurricane Harold @ 03:48 PM | Thursday, November 22, 2007 | (url: http://www.courth...)

A California man is suing Microsoft and Bungie over the well-known incompatibility with Halo 3 and the Xbox 360. From the complaint:

Defendants knew or had reason to know that Halo 3 was being purchased by consumers for use on an Xbox 360

...

However, Halo 3 does not function with the Xbox 360, and to the contrary, attempted use of Halo 3 consistently causes the Xbox 360 to "crash" "freeze" or "lock up" while the game is being played.

Lawsuits are fun!

[360] Nov 21 - Dec 21 Halo 3 Mailed Free With Console Purchase

Submitted by: Evil Light Bulb @ 02:27 PM | Friday, November 16, 2007 | (url: http://www.xbox.c...)

It looks like Microsoft is satisfied with Halo 3 sales and is ready to use its 'Blockbuster' to move try and move more consoles as opposed to simply selling more copies. "You must purchase a new Xbox 360 system between November 21, 2007, and December 21, 2007, establish a new Xbox LIVE Account, then register on the promotion website on or before December 21, 2007. Hard drive, Windows Live ID, and high speed Internet access required for Xbox LIVE account." So this will be excluding the Tard Pack Arcade 360s.
