Kahlua's Route Mod..coming soon!

Submitted by: figgs @ 11:59 AM | Friday, June 16, 2000 | (url: )

After getting flooded with PM's from tards like me, Kahlua has finally decided to release his uber-r33t "route mod." Features include:

Full Weapons Loadout selection (when you teleport), the teleports are based off beacon locations.. you place a beacon, boom, another teleport option, fully-automated turret setups, full base repair in a menu option. If you teleport with flag, it returns it in 2 seconds or so, fully heals you when you teleport, etc..

Straight from Kahlua. That should be coming very soon, he has to polish it up first.

Skeet-back Smack Pack II

Submitted by: Rayn @ 03:33 AM | Friday, June 16, 2000 | (url: )

Dynamix's own Diamondback stopped by the forums to request some community help. He's putting together a sequel to the Skeet-back Smack Pack, and is looking for some hard to find stuff, here's the post:

Mitch and I have narrowed some specific choices down that we "require" for the upcoming Skeet-back Smack Pack II.
We have been unable to find these .wav files anywhere and hopefully you, loyal Tribal War forumites, can help us out here.

I challenge you to collect the following .wav files for the next SkeetBack Smack Pack.

* Anything said by Ben Stein. Bonus points if it's vaguely game-related.

* From Mystery Men: The Sphinx saying "You dress in the manner of a male prostitute!"
The Spleen saying "Shilent but deadly!"
and maybe some apropos quotes from Mr. Furious.

* Some good Regis quotes, just to annoy everyone.

* More FRINK!

* From The Sixth Sense: "Silence, village idiot!" (said at the end of the movie, at the school play--it's Skeet's new comeback to "No soup for you!")

If you've got 'em or know where we can find 'em, email us at dave.meddish@dynamix.com or mitch.shaw@dynamix.com.

Thanks in advance, and godspeed.
I'm sure they'll be appreciative, so do a brother a favor.

I announce my own stuff

Submitted by: Rayn @ 03:11 AM | Friday, June 16, 2000 | (url: )

.. and it makes me feel cool. At least I'm not talking about myself in the third person this time. Anyway, I just finished off a new script inspired by my updates not too long ago. Here's the blurb:

ReturnAnnounce is an extension of my FlagReturn HUD. It will announce to your team at a set trigger time when the friendly/enemy flag will automatically return back to base. Very useful in coordinating either a second grab, or letting your team know to get back to their flag defense positions. Includes flood protection that will prevent repeat messaging - that is, if it works.
Feel free to give it a try at Rayn's Bucket O' Tribes .. or should I say My Bucket O' Tribes.

New Goods from Writer

Submitted by: Rayn @ 11:31 AM | Thursday, June 15, 2000 | (url: )

Seems Writer took some time out from coding his upcoming release Gilbert Goodmate to do some script work. He's been working hard the last few months to make massive updates to his script pack, and now you can help test it out:

"My pack has entered the open beta stage today.

There isn't much documentation, and there are still quite a few things
I plan to add, and I might even redesign the whole shebang again...but
there is plenty of new stuff and it's pretty darn stable (just a bit
unfriendly to install, perhaps?).

The news at my site has a bit more info on some of the new stuff:

UVALaN2 Activities

Submitted by: Rayn @ 03:21 AM | Thursday, June 15, 2000 | (url: )

UVALaN2 is coming! Along with all the eatery-franchise-sponsorship goodness, we plan to play games - a lot of game - on a local area network even. Thus, the folks from UVALAN are searching for your input on scheduled activities. z2.old_skul posted looking for feedback and outlined some tentative events:

  • a 10 vs 10 CTF Tournament, bracketed
  • a 1 vs 1 dueling tournament, bracketed
  • a Hunter tournament - complete with showdown!
  • a Rabbit tourney, also with showdown!
  • UT DM competition
  • Q3A DM competition
Some ideas have already been tossed around, including a round of Pin-the-tail-on-the-FugaZni and spin the bottle, featuring Cheater's HOs. (We're not talking about Heavy Offense, kids) Personally, I look forward to the inebriation marathon. Offer your gift of wisdom on the forums here.

Dev Team Diversion Delayed

Submitted by: Rayn @ 12:28 AM | Thursday, June 15, 2000 | (url: )

For those anticipating the friendly match between the webmonkeys of doom and the dev team, we've had to move the match to next week. Got Milk? wrote us with the info:

I'm afraid I have bad news, but alpha scheduling has come up and bit us in the ass. We are going to be working like circus monkeys here for a good while, so I'm going to have to ask that we postpone the match until next week.

Sorry about this, but Tribes 2 takes precedence. We still want to play, hopefully we can get this done next week.
Hey of course! Tribes 2 takes precedence - RHIL.
