Tribes 2 Soundtrack

Submitted by: Rampage @ 10:58 AM | Sunday, March 11, 2001 | (url: )

Tim Clarke, composer of most of the music involved with Tribes 2, sent these facts in regarding the work he did with T2:

Hi! Since there has been so much confusion and misinformation surrounding
the Tribes 2 soundtrack, I thought that I'd introduce myself and let you in
on the facts about the soundtrack:

--My name is Tim Clarke, and my company is Score! Music & Sound Design, Inc.

--I've been involved in the Tribes 2 project since the beginning, and have
composed all of the in-game music. I also have written music for most of
the teaser videos, game intro, and other marketing videos.

--The music has been met with tremendous enthusiasm, and will soon be
available for sale as an audio CD from the Tribes 2 website. It is
available also from Best Buy, as part of a pre-sale incentive.

--The music of Motley Crue is not a part of Tribes 2. The Crue has had
nothing to do with this game, despite early press releases. I don't know
any of the particulars, other than it just didn't work out.

--I worked most closely with Dave Georgeson (producer) and Blake Hutchins
(writer) during the creation of the soundtrack.

--The music is a mixture of industrial metal, electronica, ambient, and
ethnic. A live drummer and guitarist were used on all tracks, in addition
to lots of synths and processed samples. The music is quite evocative, and
each track was composed for a specific Tribes 2 world.

The Vote Goes To

Submitted by: Imposter @ 10:54 PM | Friday, March 9, 2001 | (url: )

After the tie earlier today, Team Bloodeagle revoted for either Drshoktar or Bacardi to get kicked off the Tribal Survivor game. Guess what? They tied again! So it came down to a duel, best of 5.

Bacardi got spanked, and is now eliminated from Tribal Survivor!

The two teams will now merge into the new Team Starwolf, who you can talk to in #starwolf. The next clue will be posted tomorrow, and the next immunity challenge will be Sunday at 10pm est. Immunity is now open for individuals to compete for, so if a person doesn't show they can't win immunity.

    Forum Shots

    Submitted by: Imposter @ 01:54 PM | Friday, March 9, 2001 | (url: )

With the Tribes 2 Meta Non-Disclosure Agreement now partially gone thanks to Dave Georgeson, we've seen a flood of great shots from the game on our forums. Here's a quick list to some of the best threads:

  • 4u2c has put up a ton of great shots in 1600*1200 using his GeForce2. Check it!
  • Bad_CRC of has created a thread with links to tons of shots he and Kelster of PSS took.
  • Fubar has started a thread where he offers to take requests for screenshots showing off whatever you want to see in the Meta...
  • NDA = Over is the biggest of the screenshot threads so far, be sure to check it out.
  • Finally (finally because there realy are new threads every 5 minutes and I don't want to keep this up all day) Pringles has started a thread with not only shots but also his thoughts on his experiences in the beta/meta.

  • Immunity Challenge

    Submitted by: Imposter @ 11:10 PM | Thursday, March 8, 2001 | (url: )

Due to some confusion we held an impromptu Immunity Challenge tonight instead of what we had planned. The challenge was to get as many people into each team's irc room, #BloodEagle or #DiamondSword as possible. Whichever team had the most people in their room won. The final score: DiamondSword - 137, BloodEagle 132.

This means that Team BloodEagle will have to vote one of its members out of the game tomorrow, we'll have results at 8pm est. On Saturday the teams will merge into one, the new Team Starwolf. From now on Immunity is on an individual basis. The next challenge will be Sunday at 10pm est.
