Today news hit the web that 350 people have been layed off from Vivendi Universal, parent company of Sierra. While we can't confirm who actually got the axe, we were able to get confirmation that work on Tribes: Vengeance is still proceding from Adam Kahn, head PR guy on Vengeance. No one from IGA got fired and Chris "Thrax" Mahnken is still working. So the game is still on track.

Good luck to everyone who now has to look for a job.

Thank god. I was getting a little scared there.

Any update on the fate of the Dev Team? Poor Thrax and KP

The dev team is IGA, not sierra. They're contracted to make the game. Thrax is the only Sierra guy. I think KP is IGA...I know he's down unda...

Since Imposter sucks at news... here's some quotes.

Quote:
Colosus says:
Can you comment officially on what this reorg means to T:V?

Adam Kahn says:
No change. I can say that development of T:V is unaffected. Chris [Thrax] is still working, Patrick [Marketing] is still working and I'm still working. Irrational certainly is still working."

Colosus says:
Will this in anyway affect TribalWars and Sierra's participation in the event?

Adam Kahn says:
No, in no way.

Hokay, so we're still getting a game.

Sorry 'bout the jobs, tho. I know how they must feel 'bout now.

Well, it's a good thing Irational is being contracted to make the game.
Look at what happened with Thief3.
Friggen game comes out and the entire dev team is whacked. Expect the same for T:V. This sucks because the release of the game is only the beginning. Patches are needed and it's kinda hard when most dev teams are let go as the game is released.

I think a better example would have been Tribes 2...

Thrax needs to be fired for his poor, unprofessional work.

I'm glad that T:V will be unaffected by the layoffs but I still feel really bad for the men and women who did get boot
