The thing is most AA people form a group of friends that can go out and do **** without people saying "hey lets bar hop" etc. There's a lot less pressure and a lot more acceptance. Also your number is probably way off because you're a patrick batement wannabe who ****s his sister. I did read that even the best rehab facilities have something like 24% recovery. I lost a friend to heroin last year who was at one, I visited a bunch and everyone thought he was going to be the one to pull through. He died 6 months later.

My experience with AA is as an observer.. to me it seemed they just traded addictions.

Instead of alcohol, it is cigs and coffee by the ****ing gallon

Isn't the only real rule that matters.. "Everything in moderation" the very rule addicts violate?

A vodka a day may not kill you but a gallon a day will.

A couple of cigs a day may not kill you but 3 packs a day will.

A couple of cups of coffee may not kill you but 10 pots a day is going to **** you up.

that's where I get confused between disease and addiction

why does it happen to some and not others? There isn't a pattern of depression, success etc. It seems almost random. So it seems there has to be something to the disease thing.

I mean I know Belial has a ton more medical knowledge than I do, but I also know many doctors who do say it is a disease and that it is genetic.

it's well documented that it's hereditary, why you think your doctor has a check box in your family history for alcoholism/drug abuse?

the difference isn't whether you say "ok just one more drink" (where moderation/willpower comes into play) it's whether you wake up the next morning saying "k this sucks let's drink again tonight"

I am not claiming sainthood. I said my family is filled with drunks. I went with meth as a kid. I was in way deep. I got lucky. LUCKY. I took my experience with my family, some meth, a tent and some food and went so far out in the desert I couldn't get back in time.

I partied my ass off and then almost died. I get it. But you have to make a choice. Do I want to die or do I want to live?

but alive. I manage my addictions now. The problem is keeping my mind busy. I always had something to focus on and that part being gone is the hardest part for me.

I have tore through books, built guns, reloaded, games, garden, guitar.. I still don't have enough to occupy me. It is sad and probably not much but you guys challenge me. I never said I was smart but I have always said I need something to do. I have limitations boo hoo so this is my outlet.

I like to troll but I would rather argue/discuss. Where can you do that in the interwebs nowadays without getting banned in 2 seconds?

Fine. Whatever gets you through. The twist of my life is prior to shoving meth into my body when I should have been in 7th grade... I grew up under the "Hammer of God" Southern Baptist preacher's kid.

I did my time. You want to act like someone else has control over what you do or how you make decisions.. Well God be with you.
