Graphics lock up after 5-10 minutes of play, drivers all are up to date, problem just started. Anyone else have this? Some forums are blaming punkbuster.

Which battlefield game is this? What are your system specs? Are you using a sapphire Radeon 4870 by any chance?

What card in the 4800 series do you have? If it's a sapphire 4870 512 mb then I know exactly what your problem is. Requires a bios update

How do I find out, everything I see (in catalyst and device manager) just shows "Graphics Chipset ATI Radeon HD 4800 Series"

Go to Start >> Run and then type in "dxdiag". After you press enter you should see the DirectX Diagnostic Tool. If you click on the "Dispaly" tab it should tell you the name of your video card.

Try looking in device manager under display adapters. It might tell you more info there.

If not, just open up your case and look to see if you can find a name on the card, or the make. Based on what you already posted, it looks like it has 512mb of onboard memory. If it is a Sapphire 4870 then I definitely know why you are crashing. The earlier versions of the card shipped with a bugged bios version.

I used to crash at random times while playing certain games and would get a checkboard effect on my screen during the lockup. Since i've updated my bios I have not crashed once.

If you can somehow figure out if you're using a Radeon 4870, the this is most likely your issue.
