Sim City 2000 Windows 7

so apparently sim city 2000 runs fine on windows 7. but wont allow u to save and wont allow u to load cities. making it useless.

its administrator, attempted all compatibility modes, folders are not read only.

but for some reason the whole damn program crashes to desktop every time u try to save or load a city.


anyone run into this issue and come up with a solution?

google provides many options but non that work..


and i dont want to have to use dosbox.

turns out that no matter what i do either through windows or through the cmd window, i can not get the folder to stop being read only.

maybe it has to do with user permissions on that folder? just a guess
