Chest\tri\bi\shoulder workout today, very strange for me because I generally don't bother with small isolated work like that, but I needed a rest day for core\legs without taking a day off completely.

Weekend at the lakehouse = beer, barbecue, and late nights.

Quick question re: Vibram Five Fingers. The majority of my exercise takes place on trails either hiking or trail running. I'd like to get a pair of these, my local store only has the KSO, should I order the KSO trek? Or will the regular suffice?

I don't have any complaints on my KSO's, and light hiking is no problem for regular KSO's, trail running is pleasant in them. I am however not familiar what the "trek" version has to offer, but regulars are adequate for what you're trying to do.

just keep in mind to start slow, and focus on your ankles as there are no ankle support your muscles have to get accustomed to keeping your feet straight.

EDIT: more handstanding for me, **** is hard.

KSO trek have extra thick soles, to protect the feet a little more from impact on rocks/uneven surfaces.

You can still get your 20 AA's, and the 8 super-important ones, just gotta do it in a smart way.
But you have to have at least a little bit of complete protein or you're gonna feel even worse than you do now. Just saying.

Anyway, 5.5 miles on the prairie.

I figure I've eaten a ton of meat over the span of my life, taking a break can't be all that bad for me right?

My thought process is basically that as we evolved, our primary food source was always grains, fruits and veggies, with an occasional meat meal when we were lucky enough to catch something and kill it.

I am not quitting meat permanently, just drastically cutting back my intake, starting with a break of however long this lasts.

It's kind of interesting seeing things from the vegetarian perspective though, do you have any idea how hard it is to get something to eat at a restaurant without getting meat?

Mofo: I've done that a few times (vegetarian) most recently two months ago, for a month (longest I've gone is 7 months). It is nice to switch it up, and I agree it is hard to eat out without having meat as the primary protein in the meal!

That said, there is a lot one can do with tofu, legumes, cheese, eggs, etc to keep things interesting. Good luck!
