Just the bike commute again today. I was looking at what an IM training schedule including 2 lifts/wk would be and I think I'm gonna be busy next year.

whoaaaaaa, can't blame you then. ****ty situation, running at night sucks though. I'd probably favour running in the blazing hot weather.

yeah i quit running at night awhile ago

i couldnt sleep for hours after doing it and it just isnt safe. i dont trust other drivers to spot me at night if im crossing the road or something

i do feel like training in the heat is going to help me when the weather cools though.

nothing on the horizon aside from a 5k or two this summer. i've been doing some VFF/barefoot running and everything that's been said about the lower legs being sore is completely true. i'm using this summer to get my body used to running in VFFs and to work on my form.

october and november are the glut of racing season for me so i'm going to try and do a half, a 20k trail race, a 7.5 mile trail race, and a couple of 5ks in that time frame and then go on to marathon training (april marathon)

Brolie I'm going to do a May marathon we can be e-training buddies.

If I don't break four hours I may have to kill myself for not beating that fatass Daris.

nope, it's not called "fitness" test, it does not have traditional running tests or the likes, but it has sports technique tests, you need to be ****ing good in every sport. It is divided into 7 categories:
-rhytmics (dancing and sense of rhytm)
- Gymnastics (levers, planches, ring stuff and some acrobatics stuff)
- swimming (correct stroke technique on freestyle, backstroke and chestroke + diving test)
- cross-country skiing (this ****s me in the ass pretty badly, it's about skiing technique)
- ice skating (no gay stuff, just the skills regular hockey player would posses)
- track & field (this has lot's of stuff in it basic olympic sports technique from hurdles to javelin)
- ballgames (basket ball game, which professionals analyse then soccer ball handling and baseball).

and you need to score almost full points cause there's so many applicants, before that we had the written exam which I barely passed with only one mistake (it was multi-question survey). Each year the school has 11,000 applicants and only 50 get in.

The tests last for one day 14hours, so yea physical fitness will be a huge factor later on, depending in which order you get to show your skills (it's random).

yea, nazi training facility it is

I do agree, most of the sports they test for are outdated, but have strong roots in finnish sportculture, like cross-country skiing. I know I am in better shape than most of other applicants and I also believe I am better in sports generally, not just these outdated sports.

I've practiced martial arts (even competed in them), snowboarding, parkour, gymnastics and rock climbing. I've done other sports too, but these I have given the greatest amount of time in my life. And from these only gymnastics is tested in the tests, which kinda ****s me up compared to someone else. But I don't believe it makes me less desirable as a for example school teacher at sports.
