Ok, this would suck.

Just check the holograms. In all the years I have dealt with CPU's and stuff, they have never successfully resealed a legit box, they always repackage in a new box with fake holograms and ****.

Key things to look for.

Stenciling quality on the box, it should be high quality with no pixelation or colour bleeding.
Genuine holograms, after a while you can tell which are real and which are fake.
Authenticity seals, they often have embedded text which is hard to replicate, often the process to create these seals are too expensive for the knockoff companies to replicate.

nah, it was awesome, it was like a brick with a board attached to it, same size and weight as a TV, wrapped in bubble wrap.

until you took it out, you could never know the difference.

edit: this isn't it but similar.

Genious.

When Playstation 2's were first released, I knew a kid that would take cheap ****ty stereos and such out of the boxes in the back of a department store, put the stereo or whatev in the trash compactor, put a couple PS2s to compliment the weight and then buy the "stereos" and stuff cheap and resell the PS2s.

Hmm, that's valid. ****.

I'm definitely going to start opening major purchases before I leave the store.

I imagine that Newegg will try and squash this very quickly even though it's funny.

My best guess is that it didn't start with anyone at newegg. Like I said, my first suspicion would be a shipper. Considering the amount of buying my company does with them, I have no doubt that it'll get fixed. I just hope they don't ask for the fake merchandise back, because I want to display them like trophies at my desk.

Right, but I'm sure they don't want this publicity to negatively effect their reputation. People typically take things the wrong way a majority of the time. That's all I meant
