Hudbot Transparency GUI help

So basically I'm trying to make a semi-transparent background as a container filler for a hud I'm making. I can't for the life of me figure out how to do this. I know how to make something totally transparent in hudbot, but I want to be able to make a semi-transparent circle, much like the radar hud. Can someone please help me with this. I'm using paint shop pro.

I'm just guessing but if it's anything like most, add an alpha layer, use the paint bucket tool to fill it with #808080 for 50% transparency, and save it.
