38 studios MMO in development "Copernicus"

You, dont necessarily HAVE to know about game development. When you come up with a good BASE for the game(art, story, themes, ideas, etc) you can then, ya know do that wacky thing called HIRING PEOPLE, to do the actual development. its not like Salvatore and Schilling are the only 2 people working on the entire game and coding the whole thing with no help lol.

yes, two people who obviously have no clue about game development. they remind me of all those backyard wankers who think theyre rocket scientists and build spaceships to take them to the moon.

maybe they should get together with our tribestalk "tribes remake project" crowd so they can have an inspirational circle jerk..

yes yes,
1. write a story, hire some people, draw some pictures, bla bla bla
2. ???
3. game of the year!

so simple isnt it! :p:

I wish Happy wasn't always so sad. :-(

/me hugs Happy.

Cheer up little buddy. Some day someone will make a game you love.

They have been working on this years and the best they can come up with is 5 concept art pictures that are bleh.

In 2006, the company leased 30,000 sq ft (3,000 m²) of office space in downtown Maynard, Massachusetts.[2]

Uhh Shilling isn't just throwing money at it. He's got a seat on the designing table.

The company thats making it is his company

You know I never thought of that. Wouldn't it be cool to be a multi-millionaire like a professional sports star (or whatever) and create your own gaming company. You could have them make any game you wanted and however you wanted it. It wouldn't have to be "marketable" or anything so as long as you paid your employees they wouldn't give a shit and would do whatever you asked. Tribes 4 motherfuckers (and a GOOD Deus Ex sequel, and a followup to Anachronox while I'm dreaming).

Fucking games suck these days.

The originals could be 300 sqft each

Or they actually got stuff done and this is just to begin building the hype.

actually there are a lot of quality games i like such as most games by blizzard and valve. its when i witness remotely half assed attempts at competing with them do i immediately register my disapproval with the internets and attack any hopeful yet naive optimism.

its when a game is so perfect that i have nothing to bitch about that i'm actually sad. legions and IA have given me much joy :D

I look at it as "odds are it will fail, but you never know".

Keep an open mind, someone somewhere is going to surprise us. I think a game we all know and love did that to us at one point.

Pissing on it right away doesn't really accomplish anything.

i can tell itll be a failure already based on the minimal information and concept art alone. in fact based solely on the background of the people involved i'd call it a failure.

Todd MacFarlane sucks. For an "artist" he has such horrible taste.
