I made a small blurb about it a few pages back.

I would have been much happier with the one from Vegas to LA

It would have been a great warm up, since it is so short, for the idea being tested at other places in the state. It would have required far less eminent domain disputes too. Pretty sure government already owns/controls most of it anyways.

The drive to vegas is about the worst thing I have ever seen in my life. On any day, of any weekend, now starting to include week days, you are lucky to average 15mpg on that POS. To add insult to injury they keep the bug inspection stand open to further piss people off. Cutting through Death Valley is faster for most people now (depending on where in SOCAL they live).

But I guess I can see why California didn't want to physically catapult all of socal residents money into Nevada.

I'm looking forward to seeing how the LA/SF one pans out. I'm just not optimistic that it is ever going to get anywhere. And if it does it will be over budget/over scheduled to a level that will make the new Oakland Bay Bridge look like a blessing.

Cali has so many nightmares, so many potential issues, but earthquakes are perhaps my least biggest concern. I'd take them over tornadoes, hurricanes, any day of the week.

I've been in hundreds and most you barely notice happening.

Rock/Mudslides are still far more of an ongoing concern for me than they are.

Until the pressure is released. EQ's are cycling back up in frequency and strength. Look at the logs and you will see the pattern.

Cali is more ****ed than a twink at a bathhouse.

Past 24 hours of earthquakes in the US 2.5M and greater. Watch zones marked with red squares show the areas to be aware for the next 3-5 days.

Multiple smaller events across a 1,500 mile swath of the Western portion of the North American Craton --- even seeing activity on the EASTERN edge of the plate in Virginia.

Also, notice that the earthquake movement has returned to Idaho's western Yellowstone Magma Chamber. - Dutch

it's the earthquake capital....no doubt about it.

most of them just aren't all that epic.

only two in my lifetime that were even concerning were:

1989 Loma Prieta earthquake - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

1994 Northridge earthquake - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

That's because the geological makeup on the West Coast is different from the East Coast.

California High Speed Rail Blog » Jerry Brown: ***8220;I***8217;m Going To Build Great Things, And I***8217;m Not Going To Be Intimidated***8221;

he not ****ing around.

he going for aqueduct 2.0 as well.

I hate to say I don't hate Gov. Moonbeam. He has been far more effective than Ahhhnold.

Largely due to him setting his own part straight.

I will cruise the **** out of that train system if it ever gets built in any of our lifetimes.

Study Shows That Human Beings Are Too Selfish to Fix Climate Change | TIME.com

Get back to you when you explain why it is warming instead of cooling.

You are right, it should be cooling only it isn't. Hmmmm..... It isn't due to the sun.

25% of all man-made CO2 ever produced was introduced to the atmosphere since 1996... no warming.

I never see rep unless I'm changing my signature, but every time I've looked it's all negs from Tele. It's a religion for him, I don't even know how I have positive rep still.
