there may already be different revisions of boards out there, so you can't really go on manufacturer/model. nobody really knows at this point, so probably best to wait until more info comes out.

Never go for the xx80... the 80 is always garbage.

The ti is where the fun is (or I guess 90 in this case)

Made the mistake with the 980 and damn it was ****ty... I was lucky and was able to sell it back with a 100$ loss on what I initially paid. I ordered immediately a 980ti afterwards and it still rocks many games on 3440x1440.

Apparently, nvidia found the error with the cheaper capacitors and is releasing a driver update to calm the signal noise down on the capacitors. That still doesn't excuse the other companies from using 6 of cheaper capacitors but I guess the finger pointing is starting.
