firearm homicides per 100,000

usa 3.6
canada 0.38
australia 0.16
UK 0.06

shrug

50% of worldwide gun violence is committed by men between the ages of 15 and 29.

Estimated Gang population in the US (2000): 772,500
Canada: 7,071

I couldn't find published statistics of UK or Australia gangs.

Im very aware of the stats. I just cant fathom the resistance to banning semi automatic rifles. Why not bring the amount of people murdered down? If 2% less people die a year from guns isnt that a good thing? You can still go shoot your glock or whatever.

I dont think it really has anything to do with the gun itself. It's the country, population, "diversity", as well as the leniency of the law. I think if we had no guns, there would be another outlet for people like this. Bombs and the sort. Also if you look around and where gun are the most strictly controlled, they also happen to be where most of the murders take place.

"Ban guns" is a knee jerk reaction and not thought out. It was also not done by a "red neck"..They would not shoot up a country music festival.

No its not a solution but it helps. Lets go back to the car argument, but one that is actually relatable: Abolish speed limits - people are gonna speed and crash anyway som whats the point in limiting it?

In what way does it help? Taking 2% down to maybe 1-1.5%? You would make a far more potent impact by policing gang violence. What you're asking for is unreasonable regulations being applied to weapons that aren't the problem based on emotional reaction.

Your car argument is silly, and basically for the same reasons. If people wanted to ban cars, it would fall into the same "not all cars" issue. It would make much more sense to ban the vehicles most involved in vehicular homicide, not cars in general.

Fine.. think that will stop a bad guy who wants a gun to shoot people? Nope

Stop innocent citizens from recreating? Yes
No it wont stop all bad guys from shooting people but it will stop some.
Accessibility does factor in to this.

And exactly how is it going to stop citizens from recreational shooting?

I honestly think that banning guns isn't going to change a thing regarding these types of acts. Sure the murder rate overall will drop, but if someone wants to go all out they'll find a way. I sadly see an event like this as an inevitable 'glitch of society', because it doesn't matter where you are and in what society you are in: at some point there will always be some nutcase losing his or her shit. Not saying we should accept what has happened, but i'm afraid we'll never really get rid of these events. At least not for a very long time.

General Homicide (of any kind) Rate per 100,000

US 4.88
australia 0.98
UK 0.92

i believe UK and australia are considered to have some of the strictest weapons laws. whether there is a correlation or not, i really don't know or care, but i'm not sure your statement is accurate.

no, it addresses the statement "this is the price we pay to live in a free society"
But in all fairness, he said:
Mass killings aren't unique to the U.S.
Nowhere did he mention how the people were killed, even though you were specifically talking about gun-related deaths.

I don't understand why there is always so much emphasis placed on how the people die. Sweden went full retard and voted in laws based on emotion. Now, certain trucks are not allowed to enter certain areas because Muslims used them to plow into people.
