'lol' indeed. The only argument in there against considering the English system as older is "but the Americans of 1776 clearly stated their view that the king was a despot".

He who only allows 5% of the population the vote is hardly in a position to call out what is and isn't democratic. Not to say that the English system of the time was any more representative of the populace either, but the point is still valid - it was still very much a democracy, as much as the term meant at the time.

He started a thread about kiddie porn and we ran him off. He is back again.

The constitution is not a contract, it's a list of restraints on the power of the government. Stick to shilling for the Dubai chamber of commerce please.

you just refuse to accept that you're wrong, don't you.

I admire your spunk though, kid.

remember when mitch asked us how to help his kids get access to illegal porn in his country?

Ditto.

The English revolution put the parliament in place of authority above that of the monarchy in 1688. Granted, that parliament wasn't hugely representative of the populace as a whole, but neither was the American system when it was adopted.

You can chest thump all you want, and I admire your patriotic claims of "First", but it's quite simply not the case.

Go read a history book.

a democracy with a king and queen........LOL

a still standing monarchy u still celebrate and pay for to this day

such a great idea and complete revisionism of history and basic governing definitions that even if i did try to believe you here

Although it is easy to dismiss the English Republic of 1649-60 as nothing more than a Cromwellian military dictatorship, the events that took place in this decade were hugely important in determining the future of parliament.

the pieces still don't add up

Parliament of England - Wikipedia

your understanding of a Democracy vs. a Republic is just as bad as Mitch the Dubaibitch of the sandhole shit box

Following the Treaty of Union in 1707, Acts of Parliament passed in the Parliament of England and the Parliament of Scotland created a new Kingdom of Great Britain and dissolved both parliaments, replacing them with a new Parliament of Great Britain based in the former home of the English parliament. The Parliament of Great Britain later became the Parliament of the United Kingdom in 1801 when the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland was formed through the Act of Union 1800.

1800 > 1776 but thanks for playing

someone quote me so we can make beta boy cry since he has me on ignore

the only other way he can ever win an online argument in here
