"84% of the 264 offenders convicted of grooming between 2005 and 2017 were of south Asian heritage" - imagine my shock...
'lol' indeed. The only argument in there against considering the English system as older is "but the Americans of 1776 clearly stated their view that the king was a despot".
He who only allows 5% of the population the vote is hardly in a position to call out what is and isn't democratic. Not to say that the English system of the time was any more representative of the populace either, but the point is still valid - it was still very much a democracy, as much as the term meant at the time.

he is on his 15th non-triumphant return
What number are you on?
the worthless alcoholic felon and racist is back to sling insultsWhat number are you on?
you just refuse to accept that you're wrong, don't you.
I admire your spunk though, kid.
Ditto.
The English revolution put the parliament in place of authority above that of the monarchy in 1688. Granted, that parliament wasn't hugely representative of the populace as a whole, but neither was the American system when it was adopted.
You can chest thump all you want, and I admire your patriotic claims of "First", but it's quite simply not the case.
Go read a history book.
Although it is easy to dismiss the English Republic of 1649-60 as nothing more than a Cromwellian military dictatorship, the events that took place in this decade were hugely important in determining the future of parliament.
Following the Treaty of Union in 1707, Acts of Parliament passed in the Parliament of England and the Parliament of Scotland created a new Kingdom of Great Britain and dissolved both parliaments, replacing them with a new Parliament of Great Britain based in the former home of the English parliament. The Parliament of Great Britain later became the Parliament of the United Kingdom in 1801 when the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland was formed through the Act of Union 1800.

Ah democracy. A nice idea in theory, an almighty clusterfuck in practice.
