[Mega] MAGA Super Trump Mega Thread

WaPo said:
Federal regulations give Customs and Border Protection wide-ranging authority to operate within 100 miles of any U.S. border. About two-thirds of the United States population live within 100 miles of a U.S. land or coastal border. The entire state of Florida is within such a zone.

Within these boundaries, Border Patrol can, without a warrant, interrogate or arrest any person that they have reason to believe is in the country illegally and is likely to escape before an arrest warrant can be obtained.

The Immigration and Nationality Act also states that immigration officers can, without a warrant and “within a reasonable distance from any external boundary of the United States” board and search for undocumented immigrants “in any vessel within the territorial waters of the United States and any railcar, aircraft, conveyance, or vehicle.”

and?
still wrong.

The place for asking for IDs is at the border. If you care so much about illegal aliens that you have to ask for ID 100 miles into the country then stop rewarding illegals coming in with welfare and constitutional rights.

People get into the country in a variety of ways. In this particular case, it was an overstayed tourist visa. There's no border check for that. It's not particularly draconian when in the example the only person arrested was actually in the country illegally. The character of the person being arrested is irrelevant to the laws being broken.

Supreme Court Punts On Partisan Gerrymandering

The case involved a challenge to Wisconsin’s state assembly map. Republicans controlled the redistricting process in Wisconsin and worked in secret to draw a map to cement GOP control over the chamber.

Their plan worked. They won 60 of the chamber’s 99 seats in 2012, even though then-President Barack Obama had won the state and Republicans only got 47 percent of the vote. The GOP won 57 percent of the assembly vote in 2014 and increased its majority in the assembly to 63 seats. In 2016, the party’s share of the assembly vote dropped to 53 percent, but Republicans picked up an additional seat in the assembly.

Trump-bashing Puerto Rican mayor reportedly facing FBI corruption probe

Sooo fucked

San Juan Mayor Carmen Yulin Cruz and her administration are under fire for allegedly obstructing critical supplies from reaching victims of the category-4 hurricane that leveled much of the tiny U.S. territory nearly nine months ago.

The FBI reportedly launched the investigation following a February lawsuit filed by Yadira Molina, the former director of procurement. Molina claims she was retaliated against for reporting “alleged irregular acts” to the local comptroller.
