Dont know if you guys are aware but it made the British newspapers this weekend! The 'Daily Mirror' had this article:
----------
It started as an in-joke between two internet chatroom friends - and has now become an extraordinary global phenomenon.
All Your Base Are Belong To Us - nobody quite know what the phrase means but it is now the biggest word-wide web cult there has ever been.
Scores of web-sites are devoted to it and the bizare catch-phrase has been emailed around the globe to millions of people.
This week the craze hit Britain. All Your Base emails are flooding in and new sites are springing up, making it the hottest line on the internet.
The latest website features Popstars reject Darius with the line All Your Base are Belong to Darius. The original phrase is from the badly translated Japanese dialogue of an obscure Sega videogame released 10 years ago.
A spokesman for Sega said: "We've no idea how it became so massive." It first appeared on the net in the chatroom of a technical website last year. And it was then quickly picked up by surfers who used it as a tagline - a quirky phrase at the end of an email.
Websites were then set up featuring screenshots from the game followed by pictures of famous people doctored to include the phrase. One of the most popular is of teen singer Britney Spears with an All Your Base speech bubble.
The cult is even bigger than Mahir Cagri's I kiss you site which was one of the most popular on the net two years ago.
Some people are even selling All Your Base T-shirts. And unlike other web cults, All Your Base cannot be traced back to one person.
There were claims Sega, who produced the original game, had started the spread of All Your Base as part of a marketing campaign. But a company source said last night "The first we knew of it was when it started dropping in our email inboxes this week. We just wish we'd thought of it first. Now we're getting loads of people calling up to find out if they can buy the original game."
