I was assuming that Val considered Fascism = Authoritarian.

Perhaps we need a modern definition of fascism.
I propose:

Fascism --
A system of governing which creates laws which you disagree with, or removes a law which you agreed with.
Can also be used as a degrading term for any political viewpoint or person which you disagree with.

I don't think it has anything to do with authoritarianism in general, but for it to be EFFECTIVE, you need big government (authoritarianism), which is left-wing.
