We'll start off with updates from the last project, the Ecto replica.
I finished it, took some fancy pictures of it, enjoyed it for a bit, and sold it already. Now on to one of the things I've wanted to own as a kid! The Jurassic Park tour vehicle.
I was randomly searching on FB one day and saw this 1994 Ford Explorer XLT in Denver. It had the best interior I had ever seen on an explorer along with only 140k miles. I had some friends in the area go check it out for me, one was an auto inspector, and they said it was in fantastic shape mechanically. Which is what I need because I only know how to make things look pretty.
Small **** for right now, all the big stuff will most likely start happening in the middle of August to September.
One of the first things I did was tear off that ****ty plastic trim along the bottom. These were added to the 93-94 I believe and they just clip on. They weren't in the movie so I have some holes to fill
Yaaay quarter panel rust, as expected. Just on one side though. Easy fix.
Of course I had to go ahead and put the mirror tag up, 04 baby!
Cruise control didn't work, so I did some googling and found out what the hell ever a speed control amplifier is and where it's at. Fixed that.
Mirror switch was gone, ordered a used one off of ebay and slapped that together.
AC doesn't work either, I just got all the components in yesterday to fix that, so I'll be doing that tomorrow. More to come soon!
