We need more sounds and we also need better sounds.

If I lost my capacity to hear, I would be alert for everything, knowing that I should be hearing something. I would probably do alright, because even though I can't hear, I would still be aware.

If I lost my capacity to hear cars, I wouldn't know that a car was comming when I cross the street because I would assume that I would hear it. Nearly everything is displayed or anounced, but the stuff that isn't really gets people.
