Alex Jones just got deleted ( Fahrenheit 451 for reelz)

newsflash google isn't the government

guy can host his own shit, he has the money and maniacal user base who will help him pay for it. he will be just fine.

This.

His right to free speech hasn't been violated one bit. If he said, "I don't like Obama, and he should never have been president," and the police write him a ticket for a fine or take him to jail, then his free speech has been violated.

If Facebook or Spotify or whomever chooses not to host him anymore, they can do that. 10 or 15 years ago, FatMAV was banned from here (Col or Rat. . can't remember) for his own good, and he complained his 1st amendment rights had been violated. They hadn't; TW admins can do what they want. The comparison to Fahrenheit 451 is ridiculous; the government isn't burning any of his books or telling him he can't speak. Privately held companies have chosen not to let him use their free platforms.

He's free to make his own website and continue to tell us about chemtrails, how fluoridated water is influencing our thoughts, and how Obama was born in Kenya.

the problem is that apple, youtube, etc have a stranglehold on internet content

It's not going to lengths to point out the obvious, that several monopolistic tech giants all independently decided to ban him in an extremely short period of time. Kotz and Ender provided a strong argument as to why that was the case. I stated I was uncomfortable with the banning and stated my reasoning. I would feel the same if you were banned from all of those platforms simultaneously.

youtube deleted a shitload of cannabis related channels a few months ago even tho a lot of them were legal med patients or in legal rec states

no one seemed to care

alex jones is a national treasure and clearly the goblins finally got to him

itt: fool, a forum admin who presumably has banned someone from tribalwar, argues that other websites should not be allowed to do the same.

Nah, he's never done that capriciously, to my knowledge. His argument style is more like:

Okay, if you think climate change is real, go get me the ice-sheet measurements of the Filchner ice shelf (Antarctica) each month from years 1800 to the present. Run a Chi-square test on the data as a function of time, then the standard p tests and t tests with p values <.05. Then overlay that on mean air temperatures, and note the curvature, and if you can show me there is still a significant difference of more than 2 standard deviations, I'll concede there might be something to it.

Go ahead and get that together. I'll wait.

And the hell of it is a couple of people have actually done all the shit he's always asking for, presented all the evidence, and he just changed the subject.

Other than that, Fool is a decent guy. He doesn't argue against people, he argues the topic and the evidence. I hardly ever agree with him, but I can't hate on his method.

I've never held the stance that climate change isn't real Vanster. My stance has always been "so what?"

You can argue that you're uncomfortable with free platforms picking and choosing viewpoints they're willing to host, which, fine. I would counter with that I think Facebook and Youtube have a moral responsibility to not host content that aims to harm innocent people such as the Sandy Hook families, and their personal safety takes precedent over Alex Jones' right to host his videos for free.

This also isn't the first time Youtube has done this. For example they've been taking down ISIS videos for years. They remove child porn. Videos that seek to harm people have always been taken down.

Plus he probably increases liability and shareholder risk and he violates TOS constantly.

can you name a few of the very bad tos violations his channel has done? also, why would every social media site coordinate to destroy him at once? don't get me wrong, i think alex jones is an idiot, but some of his other reporters are pretty good.

i mean, if you are happy living in the new 1984 novel that is now, cool and all.

to me, it just says that he was a threat to their narrative for some strange reason, and needed him gone. I hope it blows up in their face.

I have very little idea what Jones has said/done regarding Sandy Hook other than knowing he says it's some huge conspiracy with child actors and whatnot, so as an outside observer I would like a specific reason for the banning of Jones. But of course, they don't and won't give that because that reduces the power of vague terms of service. As far as I know, you are just making base assumptions about their decision making with no evidence.

Many of the families have been forced into hiding as a result of Jones and his followers. Many families have moved multiple times, only to have their address and pictures published online, next to claims that they're lying about their children's murder.

But now Jones is banned from youtube dot com! Oh the humanity! It's 1984!

It's really telling what triggers you, havax.

it's telling what triggers you as well, pear.

It's common knowledge the left has a "template" they put out every day. Rush plays clips of what every news station said the previous day, and it's all the same phrase. Example
Watch a surreal video compilation of dozens of local news anchors giving the exact same warning about 'fake' news

Why the right hasn't come along and created a YouTube, FB, and Instagram? Probably because it costs millions to do and the big companies would just buy them out unless they stayed private. If you go on Craigslists and read the political forum, it's all hatred for the left and there's not much they can do about it, because CL is private.

Parents of school shooting victims getting harassed into hiding pisses me off, yes.

Source? I'm honestly curious if this is true. All I can find from googling is a defamation lawsuit, which is just slightly different from your statement.

Those are Sinclair stations. Sinclair is a conservative outfit. That video was made by Deadspin. Original story here: https://theconcourse.deadspin.com/how-americas-largest-local-tv-owner-turned-its-news-anc-1824233490

Don't believe me? Here's Trump calling Sinclair a "conservative voice"
