Doesn't Fisher have like a 40 million dollar buyout or something?

The contract offered is supposedly only 1.5m more per year, so if he had to actually pay out he's not looking at a big financial gain. Not sure why he'd want to leave FSU other than more money, which FSU would pay to keep him anyway. I suppose A&M might offer to pay the 7 in addition to a new contract.

ACC is easier to win than SEC so not sure why he'd even want to leave.

this. I know ACC is big right now and the SEC kinda sucks outside bama, but things come and go in cycles.

If he leaves it'll more likely be a result of the donors demanding that they fire all of his coaches. He's been pretty loyal to them.

I haven't heard of anything popping up but you could be right. I'm not sure if he could get away with that today though. Schiano just got fired before being hired for something he had no part or knowledge of.

also, he had 1 good year at rutgers in the ****ty big east, and sucked in the NFL. In other words, perfect for tennessee.

The SEC will be very interesting in a few years when Saban calls it quits. Jimbo could do well at A&M, but i'd try to get fired for that 40 mil if i was him.

Because he's doing what he always does.

1) Receive offer
2) Be vague
3) Use offer to get counter offer from FSU

The rumors of Jimbo Fisher’s potential departure from Florida State have been heating up in recent days, and ESPN’s Greg McElroy only fanned the flames further on Tuesday afternoon.

In an interview with Sirius XM, McElroy says that he believes Fisher to Texas A&M is a “done deal”, and that the two sides only need to work out details at this point.

ESPN NFL analyst Herm Edwards has emerged as a serious candidate to become the head coach at Arizona State.

Edwards, 63, will interview with the school this week, he confirmed Tuesday.

The former NFL cornerback has not coached since 2008, when he guided the Kansas City Chiefs to a 2-14 record.
