Are you looking at releasing the skinning tools and models before the games release?

Also the same question but for map tools.

Thanks

Ok I will expand on my question ;)

About how long before the release are you looking at doing this?

p.s Thanks for the heads up Jsut.

i don't think they've given a timeline. For some reason i think they are hoping to release them along with the beta, if not before the beta.

The Photoshop question is one of the more important ones :)

Thanks for the links Jsut I will take a look, I have a feeling it will not mention if PS can be used or not.

afaik unrealed is a map editor and modeler, not a graphics program. you can do texturing with unrealed for maps, but as for the source of the skins, i can't see any reason why you wouldn't be able to use photoshop, or whatever your favorite image editor is.

I'd also like to see well written and supported documentation for scripting mutators and mods before the game is out. That will give me a decent headstart.

sigh, PR24 you fool. :p Skinning for TV is going to be like skinning for any other game out there. You get a skin map, you open it up in WHATEVER gfx program you want, be it MS paint, psp, photoshop, whatever...and you go to work!

Skinning will be avaliable at the least when the game goes to beta. Unless of course they package it so that the models and skins are packed into some weird .tvx files or some shit, in which some tool would probably need to be used to extract those files.

I would like to know whether they are planning on releasing the .max files and orginal wiremap skinmaps for the models. That would rock. But, if they do, they probably wont do that until the game is released.

I definitely agree that in UT2k3, that mutators are way overused. I installed it the other day in preparation for T3, and I found myself annoyed by the fact that all servers were running instagib. And if I filtered for a server that should not have instagib, they still came up. So, I joined one and I couldn't even get to a safe spot, in order to snipe, because I was being spawnkilled every time. It's so lame. That brings up a great point of why the Tribes3 community differs from Quake and Unreal. The majority of us are about having fun and using tactics to achieve it. We're not about killing people the second they spawn so we can grab a kill. I don't think I can play UT anymore because of this. I simply don't want an unbalanced game where everybody joins the winning team so they can take turns verbally elevating the other teamates ego's because they made such an awesome spawnkill. The T3 community rocks.

On a new note, I see a sig with an apple and a bullet. That's a sign of good taste in music.
