I doubt you could define the "alt-right" remotely accurately, but let's say that it's the Spencers of the political world. In that case, it's simple overlapping belief systems. It's not surprising really. Spencers/alt-right care about white people and don't want another white country turned into a brown shithole. This clearly overlaps with the resentment that conservatives have towards a dramatically shifting culture to Mexico shit culture. Multiculturalism doesn't work and it's only goal is to wipe out Christians/white people.
That doesn't mean that people on the fiscal conservative side want national socialism like Spencer does. Spencer is a leftist. So if we are talking about his "alt-right" form, it's more like alt-left. If we are talking about people like me who hate neo-cons, I would argue that we are actually real fiscal conservatives.
