feel my bum
edit- i saw a recent vice news video or something similar where north korea seemed pretty modern in the city. sure they may not keep the lights on all day, but they enjoy the luxury of staring at modern and reverse engineeered smartphones, flinging ornery birds through obstacles of varying resiliency and sturdiness

All of the normal examples of "socialism" (Sweden, et al) are not examples of socialism, just capitalism with a huge social safety net funded by exorbitant taxes on everyone. There is no real examples of socialism that actually are working. China abandoned socialism a long time ago in favor of economic zones.

well socialism usually has a brief period of apparently "working"... during that moment when $$$ is being transfered to the degenerates.... or not at all, if said $$$ is just being funneled to the elected
sweden underwent that for a brief moment and its in entering the failure period now. venezuala had it like 10 years ago. with brazil it went straight to the elected.
its that brief moment the millenial socialist fktards point to.
its the equivalent of some nig taking steroids and everyone saying oooo heee stronnng, lets all be like him.

Right, but wrong. The more money you have, there more you "fund". That's the same system as Portugal has. The last time we had a gov that inverted that system we went bankrupt. For 3 years we're having this government of left front (Socialist party, Left Bloc, Communist Party and Greens Party 'united') and our economy is boosting. Wages going up, yuge taxes on billionaires, bankers going to jail, and it is working like a charm

Charlemagne: the perky Portuguese
Social democracy is floundering everywhere in Europe, except Portugal
A small miracle on the Atlantic
Print version | Europe
Apr 14th 2018
ANTONIO COSTA, Portugal***8217;s affable prime minister, greets your columnist with a broad grin as he settles his hefty frame into a sofa in his official residence. He has a lot to smile about. Lisbon, among Europe***8217;s hottest tourist destinations, is enjoying a mini startup boom. Portugal***8217;s footballers are the European champions, and its politicians have nabbed a clutch of senior international jobs. And above all, he is the winner of a high-stakes political gamble.
When Mr Costa***8217;s Socialist Party lost an election in 2015 to the centre-right (and confusingly named) Social Democrats, who had overseen a harsh EU-imposed austerity programme during a three-year ***8364;78bn ($107bn) bail-out, most observers expected the Socialists to prop them up in a left-right ***8220;grand coalition***8221; of the sort now common across Europe. Instead Mr Costa, the son of a communist intellectual from Goa, Portugal***8217;s old colony in India, convinced two hard-left parties***8212;the old-school Communists and the modish Left Bloc***8212;to support a minority Socialist government in exchange for modest policy concessions.
Nothing like this had been tried before in Portugal. Mr Costa***8217;s new friends wanted, variously, to write off debt, leave the euro zone, renationalise vast swathes of industry and quit NATO. The fury was swift, deep and near-universal. Foes nicknamed Mr Costa***8217;s experiment the geringonça (***8220;contraption***8221;), and gave it six months at most. Portugal***8217;s president threatened to reject the proposed government outright. Creditors feared a free-spending leftist government would send investors packing.
Yet over two years later the contraption is grinding along and the sky has failed to fall in. Some wage and pension cuts have been reversed, firms are creating jobs at a neat clip, foreign investors are eagerly sniffing around and the public finances are in rude health; the government hopes to balance the books next year. Portugal has become a bond-market darling while claiming to stand in the vanguard of the battle against austerity. ***8220;We showed that there is an alternative to ***8216;There is no alternative,***8217;***8221; says Mr Costa. He enjoys approval ratings most leaders would kill for. Little wonder Europe***8217;s beleaguered social democrats are beating down his door.

Venezuela is not an example since Maduro took the office. He's ****ing lunatic, Kim's style. The only thing he's right about is the fact that your fellow billionaire Americans are now craving for Venezuelan oil. If that puppet Guaidó becomes president, it's the end of the country.
But this has nothing to do with the subject of this topic.

im pretty sure if you get taxed X% of your income then people who make more will always pay more bro.. Thats how it works. 10% of 100 is less than 10% of 1000.

the great thing about socialism is there's no definition so if you want to like socialism you can say the nordic countries are run by socialist parties and have the highest happiness ratings in the world but venezuela is a dictatorship destroyed by capitalist imperialists and if you don't want to like socialism you can say venezuela is a textbook example of socialism gone amok and the nordic countries are capitalist with a nomeclatural veneer of socialism plus ******s **** their women hence the success
both of them call themselves socialists so no outs there
if anyone had any interest at all in improving the world instead of scoring points on an internet message board they would stop using the word altogether and focus on the policies they like or dislike but i'm here to score points and i just dunked on all of you
