Where I was last week we had half a dozen start around us from lightning strike. Luckily they got them under control before it all went to ****.
No matter how they start, they burn hotter and wilder due to drought conditions, hotter than normal temperatures and stronger than normal winds. They are probably worse than the 'normal' catastrophic fires we get every decade or so, but whether this is due to any form of climate change (man made or natural) would be impossible to say.

haven't read it yet but this looks like a pretty good resource on bushfire arson/ignition, albeit from 2008:
Understanding bushfire : trends in deliberate vegetation fires in Australia | Australian Institute of Criminology
Quote:
Abstract
Australia is the most fire-prone continent and country on Earth. While fire is an essential component of many ecosystems, a natural instrument for maintaining biodiversity and hence a tool that enables many species to survive, not all fires are natural or beneficial. Humans play a significant role in modifying the timing, frequency and size of bushfires, in some cases to the detriment of the environment and to the endangerment of property and human life. While some human-caused fires are for the purposes of managing the environment, protecting human life and property, or the result of accidental actions, many fires occur through negligence, carelessness, mischievousness, or outright maliciousness, with little regard for either the environment or people who might be adversely affected. It is this latter group of fires - herein referred to as deliberate ignitions - that forms the central theme of this report. This report represents the first concerted effort to document the number, size and distribution of potentially illegal fires lit in vegetation in Australia. The report is based on vegetation fire data supplied by a large number of fire agencies across Australia. It is technical in nature, which reflects the fact that in many instances the information provided by fire services is, in itself, complex. The report provides a basis for guiding research and policies adopted by fire agencies, other researchers and interested individuals. It forms the basis for a number of smaller publications that summarise the key findings of the document.

having a hard time finding just a ****ing pie chart or something of this year's fires by cause. either way as arakatak said^ an arsonist can only start a fire, they can't dry out millions of acres of land and summon winds and temperatures that allow the fire to continue and spread. even if there are individual criminals who need to be held accountable, climate is still part of the cause.

what i find amusing to some extent is that this is man made climate change
these fires are so bad that they are chaning the climate around the fires and around the entire continent of Australia now
and these fires were man made by arsonists
hundreds of them........83 to 87% of them were man made
intentional or otherwise
so they got their self fulfilling prophecy fulfilled
the cultists who subscribe to this garbage dogma likely caused most of it

from Cali let me tell you a little secret to fire season over here
we have winter where we get rain
and we have summer where we get less rain
that with high heat and longer day time and guess what?
things are easier to light on fire
I know this is crazy stuff but most of it is true
apparently 100 degree heat 14+ hours a day and zero rain for many months makes stuff a lot more flammible
the exact reasoning why and who to blame for seasons and tilting of the planet we are still working on though
and don't even get me started on wind
global warming 0.1 degree change in global temp so far........you think that's the cause here

same thing that caused greece to burn (both recently and historically)
caused cali to burn
causing aussie land to burn
even caused Carthage to burn
meanwhile cat owning lizard people tell me FALSE
FACT CHECK: Immigrants Arrested for Starting California Wildfires?
yeah it was the power poles that did it
they arrested dozens of migrants for our recent fires (found most of them guilty) but because PG&E didn't put the fires out and the electricity didn't attach itself to a fire extinguisher or alert authorities it was to blame instead.

Not your strongest argument after recent NY orthodox MRM outbreaks and "WE LOVE IMMIGRANTS" and "PRO REFUGEE" status..........
I mean it's like saying bed bugs and TB didn't come back to America because of immigration issues.
How the California Wildfire Was Falsely Pinned on an Immigrant
Quote:
The dispute stems from the arrest on Sunday of Mr. Gonzalez, who had started a fire in the local park where he often sleeps, Mr. Giordano said.
The fire, which Mr. Gonzalez said he started to keep warm, threatened no structures and was quickly put out, the sheriff said.
That arrest was reported locally, and rumors began to fly.

He put his part of the fire that spread out
How could he be to blame? LOLOLOLOLO
that's how this works
I started a small fire.......not my fault it became big fire

i hear it was caused from racism
there is a reason that africa doesn't have any buildings that tall
didn't have a building over 2 stories until the 19th Century
I mean this is proof that it was racism caused by the white patriarchy made that building to fall back to mother Earth........where it belonged
you the only one who can play the critical theory kvetch game amadeus

w/e i don't really care about this issue it's just more news telling people what to think. it took a ****ing half hour to find that report because every news story about the fires regardless of headline has the same eight paragraph boilerplate just listing locations and quoting a fireman who says "these fires are pretty bad".

i blame objects
white made objects
that we wouldn't be able to live without
but still blame white people for creating
and for not having enough of
at the same time because that is what critical theory is
Goldilocks ideology we espouse but never practice ourselves
what we demand for others to uphold and do
preferably while paying for us to do the exact opposite
I'm suing this is too hot
I'm suing this is too cold

tbh the most informative story i found on it was in breitbart and i was like wtf they didn't even turn it into a screed about the rest of the media ignoring the arsonists and blaming climate control they just reported facts on a specific issue what is going on today
