Can you imagine if no country on the face of the earth ever used slavery?

I didnt think so

the difference is that america became a nation right around the time when the western world was starting to question slavery and the first real motions against slavery in the western world were happening. a number of future us states were among the first places on earth to explicitly outlaw the practice and in europe there were strong limitations already in place before the revolutionary war

we absolutely had the chance to say "nope, slavery is fundamentally wrong and not desirable, therefore we will block slaves from entering the country and create some sort of plan to remove the current slave population - either through buybacks or direct sale outside of US soil within x-number of years."

jefferson knew we couldn't keep them in the country because there would never be peace after emancipation and he was unfortunately overruled

Can you imagine not caring about the past but living in the moment and working towards a better future?

The problem with cancel culture is no matter what is done, it's not enough, and doesn't make them happy.

All those words painted on streets, at sporting events, on TV, protests, riots. And what do we get for it? Harassment in restaurants while dining (shame), random attacks, mafia style demands of affirmative action in business. This is Marxism. Is there any blame on blacks for not following orders? No, it's never discussed.

I could maybe understand the whole Canada thing if it was promoting indigenous entrepreneurs and businesses. But even then it is sketchy.

Do they even have black ppl in Canada? Apart from all the dot Indians that is.
