Went to coachella on sunday in indio, CA.
Tool owns, madonna blows. The yeah yeah yeah's put on a good show.
Gnarles Barkley owned. I liked the band "phoenix" as well.
Paul Oakenfold was alright.
I couldnt believe how good tool was live.
Anyone else make it?

Isn't it a city in California?

I'm assuming there was a concert there...yeah Phoenix is awesome ("Everything is Everything" is addictive as hell; also they had that song "Too Young" from Shallow Hal), and Oakenfold was probably sub-par because I heard he's been in and out of rehab lately, so he's probably physically shot.

some of my friends went and invited me to go but it was a bit expensive and the whole scene doesn't fit my taste

sounds like it was fun though

i heard tool was nonplussed that people were already singing along with the new songs, the day before the CD comes out.

i attended both days.

saturday i caught a little of..

lady sovereign - think a gansta version of peaches, if you like the streets you'd dig her

animal collective - psychedelic, tribal type band -- interestingly odd, yet entertaining

common - bleh, nothing too exciting here

kanye west - didn't really seem to fit in this years line-up. though, he put on an entertaining show. short and sweet. he even did the "carlton dance" to 'take on me' - by A-Ha

Ladytron - really good show, i've never seen them live... A++++ would see again

Eagles of death metal - seemed like a lot of hype behind the band... i wasn't too impressed, saw a few sets then left

Audio Bullys - didn't care too much for them, an MC rhyming over break beat... got old fast... i stayed to get in good position for....

Daft Punk - probably the best visual show i've seen. their stage and their custumes were soo tight! the tent was packed to see them

==============

Sunday

Metric - never heard of this band, though after seeing them... really good!

Jamie Lidell - bleh, not too much to say here...

Bloc party - put on a good show, drew a large crowd

Yeah Yeah Yeahs - indeed... a very good show, definately know how to rock it

Massive Attack - really good to see these guys live, though i felt that being the band before tool... didn't really set the mood right. massive attack should of been on another stage. but they were good... i guess i was looking forward to....

Tool - great show indeed!
he said on stage... "our new album comes out midnight the 2nd.... i'm sure you ****ers already downloaded it" (lol)

here is their playlist:

Stinkfist
The Pot
46&2
Jambi
Schism
Sober
The Patient
Lateralus
Vicarious
Aenema

(or 6 for both days)

this time there were like 2 and 1. so blah. plenty i like.. but for 110+ temp? w/o considering crowd?

Metric is a badass band.

Had them as a band of the month for a while. Emily Haines is a rocking ass frontwoman.
