[Mega] MAGA Super Trump Mega Thread

if the country were smart there'd be a VAT on imported goods that compete with locally made goods but good luck getting anything that increases prices through congress

It is from Trump's infrastructure plan, which is mostly a giant tax credit for private equity to fund these projects. One of the components of the plan is that contractors would receive 10% profits pretax, the income taxes on these profits are one of the main government revenue streams required to make the plan revenue neutral.

lol so I looked up what you were talking about:

"There also would be a 10% pretax profit margin for the contractor. Taxing that at the 15%
business rate yields 1.5% of project cost. Adding that to the taxes on wages yields 13.82%,
slightly above the 13.69% tax credit. "

It is using the expected profit margin on the job to help explain how the tax revenue will recoup the costs. Your understanding is wayyy off base

Without that profit margin the plan doesn't pay for itself. So it wouldn't be revenue neutral. The expected profit margin also seems overly ambitious.

I think 10% profit margin is way off base, but if it's 2-3% it doesn't make a whole lot of difference in the tax revenue. Instead of corporate profit it is salaries or material purchases from other companies that are increasing their revenue instead.

I didn't read the whole thing though so I'm not judging whether or not it makes sense, just that it most definitely is not some guaranteed 10% pretax profit to contractors.

it's govt work so u just use subcontractors to obscure costs and hide the profit

they be making more than 10% garrenz

Send more money guys.

its too late now anyway, the actual recount would take far longer than the deadline. unless they really want that pointless congress vote.

plight of worthless trash smdh lol :jester:

they produce toyotas and hondas n shit in the US cheaper than overseas so its not too crazy of an idea. not sure how diff thatd be for iphones but i doubt itd be 2k each

By building their cars in non-union states, they save on average about $1800.00/car. This not only translates to lower prices and higher profits, but also allows the company to invest in higher quality materials and trim. That's why American made foreign cars are still better than domestic union state cars.

If you're able to keep the unions out of the process, the phones will be comparable price wise.

didnt know unions were a per state thing. if trump can get rid of unions ... AND lawyer interference in other states theres hope
