best source for yankees tickets?

I want to take my dad to a yankees game as a birthday gift the weekend of Sept 12-14. It looks like the tickets on the site are sold out (not surprisingly). What's the best way to get tix now?
 
uh, good fucking luck dude. Better have a friend who has season tickets or else you're fucked. I've been looking since early july. Better chance at finding the holy grail.
 
another option is go see them play an away game, but that won't work if you need that weekend obviously.
 
Yeah I've thought of those. Just wondering if there's a consistent good way to get tickets. In Boston I know where/when to do it, but in NYC I have no clue :(.

Maybe I'll just have to settle for the Mets...
 
Wait until they are playing a shitty team no one wants to see.
Toward the end of the season...you're likely to find squat.
 
go to the game, scalpers are outside all the time and will sell for close to face. closer than ebay or stubhub, often under face if you wait long enough.
