divinity os 2 is little different on that aspect. You can progress the story multiple ways, so you won't get stuck even if you don't find "the dagger in hidden basement". But yea there's still alot of stuff that are behind "explore everything" wall, can easily miss plot and so called "optimal" solutions to quests.
Not a huge fan of OS 2, in act 2 now with two play throughs (one with a friend and one single player), not sure if I am going to finish this.
EDIT: also couldn't get in to total warhammer 2, never played the franchise before and I am not getting much gratification from the battles.
