someone would be really stupid to believe you can have open borders coupled with unlimited immigration that will support $15 /hour min wage

That is very much what Australia did. Very unpopular choice (according to the media, not to anyone I ever spoke to).
They shipped them off to offshore islands into camps to await processing. While they search for mostly non existant documents to prove identity they spend years sitting there. Many opt to be settled elsewhere (Papua New Guinea) or go back home.
The boatloads of people stopped very quickly.
Last week they mentioned doing special deals/expedited processing for those with children. Was shitcanned luckily b/c that just opens the floodgates up and leads to abduction/abuse of children when people take them on the boat with them hoping to get in faster.

The good news - the deaths of these unfortunate people plummeted also, that's why this is a good thing and the left cant complain about it. It's really a genius move.

id love to read your thesis on how you can pay $15 /hour while increasing the supply of labor, especially when it's unskilled labor

try $13/hr being equal with inflation since around 1970. try some states paying close to $10hr (or more) already, without a federal mandate. yes, the MW in oklahoma doesn't need to be as much as the MW in seattle - this is why i do not support a $15/hr minimum wage. that does not mean the federal MW should remain where it is.
try cities that have increased MW to $13/hr or more, not seen the sky fall on their head.

A way to kinda make Mexico a partner
with the USA in this.Lease an island off the Mexican Pacific coast and ship off new illegals and refugees to camps there to await processing.
Mexico likes and is used to getting $$$ from U.S. that will make Messiyco a
