[so] Vanster, when were you adopted, and what state?

i have never really looked into the history. I've always been told that natives pretty much are the only ones that can have casinos. So how did Vegas come about? Im guessing it was native land at one time until the mob showed up?

Dude, I have no idea. I know that I was one of the most gabby when Northern Arapaho attempted to get gaming in Wyoming. We have a lot of Mormons here that have political clout, and did not like it. There are no Italian, Irish, or Jews here. The Northern Arapaho control the main casino and hotel in Riverton, the Shoshones get the Little Wind Casino (all slots) that is close to Fort Washakie.

If you live on the res and are employed, you have a paycheck from your employer, nothing from the government, same as anyone else. No tax breaks, no nothing. The idea of an unearned paycheck is another European myth.

Wait, were you advocating for or against the casino?

After a quick degree at Wikipedia U., The area las vegas sits in was pretty much nothing except a crossroads of sorts for trading and was originall mexican. it was named by a mexican trader and his party. There was substantial military involvment in the area when it was actually mexican owned, then it became part of american territory.

The only mention of natives in that area were 10k years ago, but nothing about a tribe claiming the area, which seems odd. The casinos were actually set up when the dam started getting build, primarily for the dam workers. Then the italian and jewish mobs showed up and you can pretty much figure it out from there.

Now according to the interwebs Tribal members living on reservations are not subject to state income tax. Tribal casinos do not pay corporate income tax.

Natives are allowed to set up any class of casino if state law allows, however natives can set up class 2 gaming, which is pretty much poker and bingo, anywhere on their land regardless of state law. Tribes are generally expected to collect taxes on purchase made by non trial members for consumption or use off reservations.

Some tribes give cash payouts from gaming revenue. It says the santa ynez band of Chumash Indians has paid its members 30,000 per month from casino earning. But seeing as how these people claim to be the indigenous people of Santa Barbara, my guess is their 'res' doesn't look anything like a res in wyoming

It's cute watching Juggs learn. It's kinda like raising Gazorpgazorp

Ho Chunk tribe owns casinos in WI. I was talking to one of them while playing poker. He confirmed they get a monthly check just for being a member of the tribe, but obviously wouldn't say the amount.

I've always thought it was ridiculous that Indian tribes get special rights on this. The state is simply subsidizing a minority. Now with the money they make, they are a political force that block anyone else from entering legalized gambling.

Well seeing as how they had their land taken, massive genocide, moved to reservations, i'd say its a fair trade

maybe if vanster would have explained the calculus of the electoral college to the DNC hillary would have won and vanster wouldn't be so depressed and violent

For.

Wyoming was one of the last states to allow gaming on reservations, and took us millions in attorney fees to get it done (which you ended picking up the tab for, thanks for that) I support the stupid tax 100%. I love when people talk about their trip to Las Vegas, or when some person reports that they won $25 or whatever on a scratchoff ticket.

The Seminole Nation bought The Hardrock Cafe franchise a few years ago, so I always love to see tourists wearing T-shirts with Hard Rock Cafe London or whatever. The Seminole own it all.

Because of the Mormon population here, it took a lot of fighting in the courts to get gaming in Wyoming, but ultimately the Mormon motel owners were what got it done. The luxury hotel is just outside Riverton on the res, but Mormons aren't stupid-- they knew that most of the loot was going to be made from white trash, and those folk stay in motels.

Cliffs: I was very much for it. I love gamblers.

i get my gas at the local casino

because it is both sales tax and other gas tax free......60+ cents per gallon less than non-res petrol

same goes with cigarettes if i smoked (but I don't)

i could include other tax exemptions but i don't need to.......i already made my point

but maybe u need more of this kind of real deal victim hood to feel better?
