Tribes 20th Anniversary - November 30th to December 2nd (updated info!)

Yeah easy rank them from most effective to least effective ... Or even better put the cheaters like rtcll and sleepy right up the top .. and the non cheaters down the bottom.... See how many players you have .... But most importantly if one team is winning after you pick the teams just trade one or too players after a few games to make it even ..... The only one who will have an issue with this is rtcll because he's a scum bag and a cheater.

seems like there's conflicting goals - some people are out to compete and draw blood and others are hoping to relive some nostalgia for a game they last played 15 years ago.

maybe there should still be a competitive tournament where the goal is to win, but find a different way to include all the newcomers. i feel like organized LT play isn't the most fun thing anyway if you can't even ski yet. if i go back to playing dota which i haven't touched in 10 years i wouldn't want to immediately be thrown into organized games with drafting and warding.

what about just hosting a bunch of servers like an open playground and have pubs running all day on all kinds of nostalgic maps and maybe goofy server-side scripts to make things light and fun? players can hop back and forth between the servers if they wanna play a big 20 man LT pub or a 30 man base game - and have these servers open to everyone and we can all play together and just have a good time.

yasss agreed and dont forget arena, we can just fool around in arghs or PU don't matter.

yeah i think having each game type is a good idea, and name them so they're immediately recognizable. "20th anniversary - arena" "20th anniversary - base" "20th anniversary - TR" etc

maybe even a fun server that just hosts ubermaps and ski maps only

anyone who reinstalls can hop around for a few hours freely

that's the exact plan. there will be servers dedicated to open play that will be up the entire weekend, e.g. base open play, lt open play, arena open play, and tr open play. there will also be servers designated for pickups and the lt tournament.

Starsiege: Tribes 20th Anniversary - this is a rough calendar of events that sort of shows what i'm imagining.
