Maybe 1970 wages would buy the same amount of goods and services if a private bank didn't keep reducing the value of currency. But that's another thread Goshin..

we're basically in a new gilded age but this time the oligarchy has successfully beaten the idea of unions out of the majority of workers. and they can make their manufacturing money on the backs of 'slaves' in the third world for the most part
its super cool!

At what point would a top earner pack up and leave Amadeus? Oh wait, we already know because it's already happened in the ****tier states. Chicago and other cesspools even have 'exit' taxes in place for property sales over a set amount.

the sheer idiocy of stealing property from the producing class to subsidize the recipient class is an anathema to anyone who values their property Rights.
go **** yourself you mooching pieces of **** and earn your own living or die off.

What difference would it make to your inevitable argument? Take it as 32% and call it a day.

I'll go with that instead, mine was a source that only included wages and not all income

There's no fairness in taxes. The more you make, the more you pay... In actual dollars, as a percentage tax rate, and as a percentage of the total taxes paid to the gov. The top 10% basically pay for EVERYTHING.

Part of the answer is that people in the US need to recognize how good they have it and be happy with less. If you want more, raise your game, start a business, figure it out.

Because the top 10% make all the money.
If I make $1, and you make $100, and we both pay 10% tax, I'll pay 10 cents and you'll pay $10. You'll have paid more in actual dollars, and even though you're only 50% of the population, 99% of taxes came from you.
Is that unfair?

The top 10% make less than half of "all the money" and they contribute 70% of all income tax.
