[NBA] 2018-2019 Regular Season

The Rockets have denied they are waiving Carmelo Anthony, but two sources close to the situation say Anthony has been informed that his brief time with the team will soon be ending. Anthony has been listed as "out" for Houston's game tonight against Indiana due to illness

u told me to let the trade thru, i talked to a couple other people about it. jordan (my friend's bro) has lebron, embiid, and harden. i might be able to beat him this week but itll be close

college prospect game is fuckin retarded

every analyst and pundit that breathed air said fultz was an easy lock at #1, guaranteed star player

Yes! There are nine categories, and those “studs” can auto-lose a third of them every week!

Anyway, if you were talking about Lowry for Harden, it may not hold up over time and circumstance, but it was certainly lopsided toward the team that got Lowry!

what cat besides TO would they auto lose? lebron and embiid aren't chuckers like harden. harden's elite FT makes up for lebrons terrible %

anyways lebron went off last night. watching him when he enters god mode is pure delight

Embiid & LeBronze shoot enough free throws to fuck over your percentage and sink you below 80% on the week, James Harden will do a great job shooting you into a giant fuckin’ hole on FG%. All three are turnover machines.

Sorry for lumping them together to get to the number three! But I suppose in the case you provided, the analogy works perfectly! Your team only needs to compete on six categories. Add streaming in to the mix and the “stack” is hella easy to combat!

“Studs” aren’t always safe. In fact, I believe these are the only players who are fantasy gold in nine category leagues:

KAT, AD, Curry, Durant. Consider durability and the list narrows to one! Who keeps winning me championships?! LMAO!

As you expand out and head into second and third round talent, you manage to find more who can do the same but at a lower volume. At the top, on the other hand, you’re forced to punt categories! Give me Vucevic over Embiid! Middleton over Giannis! Anyone over Westbrook!

If we were playing in a points league, things would be so much different on the trades that have been happening!

you have it backwards. in a points league, any negative stat hurts because there is a single point total every statistic contributes towards. all negative stats hurt because they take away points from that singular point total. in 9-cat it doesn't matter if you're a blackhole and the worst in the universe at two cats as long as you win 5 other cats. having massive turnovers has zero effect on how many blocks im getting in 9-cat whereas having massive turnovers subtracts points from the total points my blocks are getting in a points league.

in a points league, harden's turnovers can hurt you more than 9-cat since you don't have the option of pointing turnovers. in a 9-cat league i can take on drummond and rudy gobert and build my team to punt FT% so that their awful free throw % wouldnt hurt me and take away points like it would in a points league

so analytically, even if harden + james + Embiid sunk your team in 3 cats you would (conceivably) be so dominant in the cats they're strong at you should roll opponents over.

adding together their 3 career averages for FT gets 20.8 FT for 26.2 FTA, which is 79%. the league average for the 17-18 season was 16.6 for 21.7, 76%.
