because i voted last night, and tried to again today and it didn't let me. Thus there goes the assumption that it resets at night time

Uh voting didn't open until 12:01 AM CST on the 4th. Its not the 5th yet so it hasn't had an overnight transition yet in CST.
 
how are you going to track the votes for a lottery? I didn't see it in the OP. Want me to make a new post every time, or just update the old one?

Every time you vote post. there is a link to a google doc in the op that has the vote record and the post i have updated to. If you don't see a 1 next to your name for a day you posted that you voted PM me with the post number and I'll go back and update.

A voting day is from midnight to midnight CST.
